I have the feeling this premium version isn't so premium. Some of their other apps are like that too, Around the World in 80 Days for instance. The game is still tons of fun though just like their match 3 game Call of Atlantis I just hope I don't hit a stop where I need to pay to keep playing. kzwen Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,345 0 0 #7 kzwen, Jan 27, 2012 Yeah it's really good. Just check around in their other premium games thread. Such queries have been asked and answered a number of times. Drucifer Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2010 1,568 1 38 Canada #8 Drucifer, Jan 27, 2012 I didn't really find much on it myself, at least nothing that made much sense. From what I could gather they put the app free for a day then added the IAP so customers would have to pay to unlock the rest of the game. But if that is the case I don't understand why they have a free version to begin with and then a paid "premium" version. Habakuk Well-Known Member Dec 11, 2008 4,779 9 38 Vienna, Austria http://rossau.wordpress.com #9 Habakuk, Jan 28, 2012 Last edited: Jan 28, 2012 That goes more and more weird indeed. Let's have another IAP detective lesson. When you call the link for the Canadian App Store of Royal Envoy (Premium) on a Mac or PC… http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/royal-envoy-premium/id474704446?mt=8 …you can see a little table with „Top In-App Purchases—Full Game Unlock $2.99″. Please confirm that. When you choose the little Austrian… http://itunes.apple.com/at/app/royal-envoy-premium/id474704446?mt=8 …US… http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/royal-envoy-premium/id474704446?mt=8 …German… http://itunes.apple.com/de/app/royal-envoy-premium/id474704446?mt=8 …or international iOS App Store (without any country prefix in the url; actually it seems to be the US store)… http://itunes.apple.com/app/royal-envoy-premium/id474704446?mt=8 …you won't see any IAPs mentioned in a tiny table or elsewhere (please confirm). I checked my (Austrian) version of the game (iPhone 4, latest iOS, never jailbroken) that I downloaded yesterday (no updates until then) and I couldn't find any IAP option inside the game (as well as in the iPad version that I've gotten when it was free in October 2011). I looked for it for 25 minutes, even played the first levels. We all do know, don't we? Those little tables only show up in iTunes when at least one consumer/user bought the IAP—one of the stupidest inventions by Apple. So the US store is always (okay—mostly) the first one in world (simply because it's the most frequented App Store) that shows up the tiny IAP table. The newest feint? Country specific IAPs?! For Canadians only? Read my lips: 75 % of the time on app reviewing I am wasting with IAP detective jobs. And I'll give up soon. If that's the case we should put the dev on a watch list definitely. HLW Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2010 1,355 0 0 UK #11 HLW, Jan 28, 2012 This app is the paid-for iPhone version with no IAP, currently on sale for free. There is also a free+IAP iPhone version. The version with IAP has a button that says 'Buy' on the menu screen. If the 'Buy' button is not there, it's either the paid version or you've already bought the IAP. There are also both versions (paid and free+IAP) available for iPad. Hope this clarifies things a bit? Habakuk Well-Known Member Dec 11, 2008 4,779 9 38 Vienna, Austria http://rossau.wordpress.com #12 Habakuk, Jan 28, 2012 Sounds logic. BUT why does the currently free "paid-for iPhone version" in the Canadian App Store show up IAP in the App Store's description text? I did prove that here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2112297&postcount=9 Nightxx Active Member Jan 13, 2012 25 0 0 #13 Nightxx, Jan 28, 2012 This is indeed the full version with no IAP-unlock. I downloaded "Around the world in 80 days" before and it was the full version as well. However, when my sister downloaded the exact game which was tagged as (Full) from the US store it was the trial version. Downloaded mine from UAE store. HLW Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2010 1,355 0 0 UK #14 HLW, Jan 28, 2012 No idea, but I've seen that once or twice before - IAP showing up in iTunes, but when you actually download the app there is no sign of IAP anywhere. Drucifer Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2010 1,568 1 38 Canada #15 Drucifer, Jan 28, 2012 I'm in Canada too and it shows full unlock for $2.99 via IAP for both the free version and the "Premium" version. HLW Well-Known Member Sep 2, 2010 1,355 0 0 UK #16 HLW, Jan 28, 2012 If you download them both, are the icons the same? And do they both have IAP within the app (a Buy button on the menu screen)? From the UK app store, the icons are mirror images of each other, the free+IAP has the Playtrix dragon on the right, the paid one has the dragon on the left and no IAP available within the app. Drucifer Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2010 1,568 1 38 Canada #17 Drucifer, Jan 28, 2012 Last edited: Jan 28, 2012 I'll try now. The icon for the free version is a mirror image of the full version so the full has the dragon in the bottom left and the free is the bottom right. Further more the free version has a large ribbon that says "BUY" on the title page. I wonder why the Premium version seems to indicate there is an IAP, maybe they didn't remove it from the full game but just removed the button to purchase it. No idea why they do that but it's my only guess.
