This game is really cute! It can be pretty challenging too, as it's not always clear what the goal of the level is (to get 3 stars). The animations after clearing a level, which are different for 1, 2 or 3 stars, are a very nice touch! Definitely a cute and fun physics puzzler, and worth downloading.

I can say that my almost 5 year old has really loved this game so far. I found it quite fun too. I will rate it when I get a chance later today.

It's a launcher, but with a rainbow to guide you and without the intensity bar for force. I'd compare it to Jump Out! by Avallon Alliance, in style, or Angry Birds with a bit less polish to the physics, and the appearance of guidelines to show where your shot is aimed.
Edited to add: The launcher is the "magic mushroom" in the screenshots. It's pretty tiny on an iPhone screen. They suggest using two fingers for more precision, but that must be for iPad users or really little kids.

    got it, thanks :)

this seems to be more geared towards little kids, so i'll pass even though its free..Plus i have enough launcher games as it is.

  10. I played a couple of levels and got to the one with the wall. Didn't have patience to figure out how to get it to go around.

Feed all hungribles and don't forget to shoot the golden plate with the golden nuggets (not as the last element). Make use of gravity. Sometimes you have to redirect over the wall. Don't make too many "turns" (shoots).

The first few levels maybe but then it gets more and more challenging. BTW tested on iPad.

I also thought the controls were horrid for the first few levels, but I found I quickly got used to it, and found it acceptable after that.

I do think the turning of the mushroom shooter could be smoother.

I agree that the mushroom shooter is wonky. Sometimes it responds to touch, and sometimes it take 3-4 tries. That needs to be smoothed out. Making it bigger would help too, as it's pretty tiny and difficult to control right now.

That said, I'm more than half-way through the first world, with all 3 stars on each level, and I think it's a good, casual game. I'm loving the level-completion animations. That was really a nice touch!

And Habakuk, thanks for the explanation on what I'm supposed to be accomplishing in the game. That really helps! And it should probably be added to the tutorial or description, especially the part about being sure not to leave the golden bits until last.

    148 Review 3.5/5 http://www.148apps.com/reviews/hungribles-review/
"The only thing letting down the game is the way it controls. There’s an imprecision with aiming the pellet, especially when the view is zoomed out across a larger, busier level. Futuremark is clearly aware of the issue because by pressing down with two fingers you can aim more precisely, but it’s very fiddly and still rather sensitive. Maybe using a second finger to fire might have been a better work-around to avoid finger slip upon release affecting aim, but I suspect the very nature of the game was always going to produce fiddly controls. Despite this frustration, Hungribles keeps a smile on my face as I feed those lovable little whatever-they-ares. With new levels coming soon, this could be another game with a lot to give behind its cute complexion."

Wish this had got 4'' support... But it's great. One of the few iOS puzzlers that I stuck with til I completed it. =oP
