LOL! Time's top 100 is so laughably bad. Some of the other top 100: Justin Bieber Joe Biden Michele Bachmann (are you effing serious!?) Sting El General (apparently a Tunisian rapper)
JB, Biden, and Bachmann are very appropriate candidates to call "most influential" here in the US. You don't have to like them. Heck, they can even be complete retards that know less about US politics/government than "Joe Sixpack" when it's their supposedly their life, ahem MB, but they indeed fall perfectly into the category. These candidates definitely influence people greatly, though not in the best ways most of the time. Well, Biden is questionable.
Fu*k that and f*ck Justin Bieber, you know what, fu*k Time Magazine as well. Thats just bullshit. That dev should not be one of the most influential people..there are plenty of indie iOS devs that should have won that award. Not to mention the countless volunteers all over the world who do more in 1 day to help people and all this guy did was make a succesfull video game. This pisses me the hell off... Give the damn award to the Mobigame devs for their Amnesty International App. Thats tons more influential than angry birds. All AB does is give you the ok to shoot birds at other objects, so in the abstract Angry birds supports animal cruelty, and by association Time Magazine supports animal cruelty. #bitches.
Dude, Angry Bird isn't even that fun. I don't know why people waste their money on such a pointless game. Doodle Jump and PvZ on the other hand was pretty addicting.
Say what you will, I think this is an appropriate title to give th devs of this game. Sure there might be games similar our there, and other indie devs just as devoted - but the fact of the matter is these guys are the ones who showed the world what the casual gaming market can be. The video game market has had a somewhat stagnat user base for the last 10 years - and only recently, mainly spearheaded by the success of angry birds, has the world (and the game market) seen the potential of opening up video games to the general masses - short dev cycles, ridiculous returns on investment, etc. These guys might not of started it, but they are without a doubt the flagship example.
I thought the list went straight to hell when I saw Bieber's name, but seeing Michele I need a history/geography Lesson Bachmann was the clincher.
This, in my opinion, is ridiculous. Nothing against Rovio, or Angry Birds, or game developers (I am one, after all), but really? There are billions of people in this world and TIME couldn't find 100 who, you know, actually helped people and made a difference in their lives outside of "Not in the mood honey, I have to get at this pig that's protected by these walls."? That's sad, really, because I can walk into any hospital in the States and find 100 people who have way more important influence on people's lives then some silly game developer. And let's not even get started on the whole Mark F*ckerberg at #6 thing. Just my 2 pennies.
