Another of the board game classics is coming to the iPad. Reiner Knizia's Through the Desert is currently in review by Apple. We expect it to be released in the coming week. The game will support up to 4 players sitting around the iPad. In addition, we have AI players and online play. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/503/through-the-desert http://www.facebook.com/tribeflame
Some screenshots are available on our facebook pages. We will price it at $5.99 for iPad and $3.99 for iPhone.
And now having read more about the original and seeing this accurate implementation, I finally get the "Candy Camel" references. I wonder if the Gumi Bear folk ever jumped on this bandwagon?
I guess a very expensive month. Last week lot ... this week I have labirinth, this one , aralon and who know what else on my next purchase list. Anyhow, I saw the video and checked the game on boardgames, this one is a must buy for me.
Wow, love him or not, you've got to give Knizia credit for being at the front of the iDevice explosion. My hardware is full of Knizia titles ... and I'm not even that big of a fan.
I'm really impressed how the good doctor is CLEARLY embracing the idevice and not simply "allowing" a developer or two to make ports of his games. I mean it sounds like he's actively involved in these ports across about half a dozen developers even working with them to implement stuff that never existed previously as a real cardboard board/card game (Roto and Monumental come to mind).
