Castle Raid 2 - New Alliances

Fellow gamers and friends. Today we’re proud to announce the coming of the new age of war: Castle Raid 2 - New alliances is on its way! It will be available as of this Friday (13th of December 2013) on iOS App Store and Google Play for Android.

    What is Castle Raid?
For you guys and gals out there who aren’t familiar with Castle Raid, here’s a short recap:

Set in medieval times, Castle Raid is a single-device multiplayer RTS game where the goal is to raid the enemy’s castle. The concept of Castle Raid is simple: You play against another person (or A.I. player) on the same device and you each get a side of the screen with a castle to defend. To your aid you have a variety of awesome soldiers to deploy against the other player. The person who is the most strategic, cunning and resource economizing wins. And if you’re lucky, the loser won’t break your iPhone :)

What’s new in Castle Raid 2?
With Castle Raid 2 we have taken it to the next level and will be introducing many new and cool features. Here are some of them:

    - A bunch of new units - You’ll have to carefully pick which units to use before each battle. What will be your favorite setup? How will it match up to you opponent’s pick?

    - Unit upgrades - Improve your favorite units to make your set-up even more powerful.

    - Individual unit leveling - Like playing favorites? Make your favorite unit unstoppable by keeping it alive on the battlefield. The enemy shall fear your generals.

    - 20 new battlegrounds across two kingdoms - This will keep you awake for too long!

    - A new race - ‘Nuff said.

    - Challenge modes - The normal gameplay too easy for you? Try this!

    - … and much more

    Want more?
    How about the official trailer:

Oh what the heck, here are some more screens :)

Hehe, what's the saying now... A trailer is worth a thousand screens, yeah something like that :)

The feeling we want promote with Castle Raid is that of an intense social board game, where you sit face to face with your opponent laughing and cursing, irl. So this is where our focus has been in the head 2 head mode. But that being said, online multiplayer is not an impossibility down the road...

Wow, I have been looking for a game like this for ages. I even made a thread to find a game which was very similar to this:

    http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=208678

This game seems to be very close to the game i was looking for, even better. Thank you developer for bringing this amazing game to my knowledge.

The screenshots and trailer look amazing, and I really like it how you can choose your army before battling someone.

I have a couple of questions:

    1. When you upgrade your units, will your opponents be upgraded too (when battling on a same device) If not, wouldn't it make it unfair?

    2. How do you win? Do you need to get to just destroy (or reach) the opponents castle? Wouldn't this make the possibility of winning by spamming troops in the middle?

I can not wait for the release tomorrow, however unfortunately I only have $1 in my account :(

We're really glad to hear that! Hope it will live up to your expectations.

    To answer your questions:

    1. Unit upgrades are only applicable in single player campaign mode. When you battle a friend everyone plays without upgrades. That being said, you can apply handicap (disadvantage) to either side in head 2 head to even out the odds if you're better than your opponent.

    2. You win by destroying the opponent's castle. So you have to reach it with enough units to stave off the opponent's troops as well as his/her defensive super weapons (towers). To spam troops you need money, which you don't have a lot of to start off with, so it's not as easy as it sounds. It also depends on the battlefield and the difficulty level. In some cases, storming the front, so to speak, can be a good strategy, and in other cases a terrible mistake.

Does this answer your questions? :)

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and comments after playing the game.

    Cheers!
