Today at Mingle Games we were wondering whether there is a list of world events or large campaigns (such as Apps for Earth), that can help "prepared" apps get featured on App Store, but sadly we couldn't find any. Such list would help us to plan special time limited events in our games ahead of time. Of course, we know of well-known events such as Christmas, Halloween, Holi or Lunar New Year (my favorite, guess why ), but I guess that's only a fraction. So -> any ideas?
We've also got curious about how to track upcoming Apple events like 'Apps for earth' or 'Mother's day' apps. Some info should definitely come up on apple official blog or something like that. Hope someone here on TA forums know the clue
Since I couldn't find any easy to use list of global/local holidays & events purely in App Store, I've started compiling it myself in a spreadsheet (easy to filter it). I should have it ready during next week and I'm thinking about making it public, so more people can add to it. Would someone be interested in it?
Yeah, that's a great idea. There definitely should be a way how developers know about upcoming apple appstore events, because it takes time to prepare the update for their apps. Maybe we jsut don't know where to seek this info or Apple contact the devs with top grossing apps with an offer to update their games as per to the upcoming event.
