It isn't published by DeNA. It doesn't have Pokemon in the name. It wasn't promoted or advertised in any way. I can't imagine this is licensed or official. It isn't published by dena nor Nintendo. This is from a dude named Jie Hao. It all seems suspicious. I'd be shocked if this is legit modus_ataraxia Well-Known Member Jan 7, 2015 328 0 0 #9 modus_ataraxia, Dec 6, 2015 The video tells you everything you need to know. There is absolutely no way this was affiliated with Nintendo in any way. The quality is far too poor. Worse than simply copying someone's IP, this person tried to make it look legit by impersonating the DeNA/Nintendo partnership. This proves intent, which will probably be much worse for them when they try to claim they didn't know what they were doing. I really wish people could just use their talents to make their own products. Kirenx Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2012 774 0 0 #10 Kirenx, Dec 6, 2015 It is not an official game. It is a rather bizarre rip-off, as some elements of the game show a bit of thought and care, while other aspects of the game are just plain lazy. An early example would be when your character meets Team Rocket during the tutorial. The game models for Team Rocket look as they do on the show, but the larger portraits that appear during dialogue look completely different. The game itself starts of seeming like it has potential, but after an annoyingly long tutorial, you realize that most of the core mechanics seem to have been almost randomly torn from other freemium titles and stitched together to create this clumsy lawsuit-waiting-to-happen. So many of the game mechanics just DON'T work together, but have been thrown in to create more timers and things to encourage premium spending. The amount of IAP and timers is truly staggering. I actually don't mind freemium games, but this one feels like it was designed specifically to get as much cash as fast as possible before it gets pulled. If you have been waiting for a semi-decent Pokémon game on IOS, keep waiting, this is not even close to being it. Plus it's buggy as hell... which implies a soft launch? killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,783 1 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #17 killercow, Dec 7, 2015 Last edited: Dec 7, 2015 And Nintendo would release a game with an half-arsed translations and broken english ? I don't think so. To me, it looks exactly like a standard rip-off that you usually see on Android (more so than on iOS). Nothing feels official and a game from Nintendo (with Miitomo being pushed back) isn't gonna show up until quite a while. Weirdly enough the real "DNA Games Inc" (which may or may not be involved with this game) is actually part of Zynga: https://www.battery.com/our-companies/company/dna-games/ Based Xatu Well-Known Member Aug 27, 2013 1,937 0 0 #18 Based Xatu, Dec 7, 2015 Yep, saying that this game looks better than the 3DS games is even stupider than my comment. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #19 NOEN, Dec 7, 2015 Yea, I'm starting to hear rumblings and speculations that this MAY be DeNA and Nintendo's new game and in soft launch. Nintendo is really sneaky at times and I could see them not wanting to quietly release a game in soft launch. When they hit the AppStore, they are probably gonna wanna hit worldwide at the same time and be Editors Choice, ect.......So, this is not entirely impossible. I mean seriously, I just can't see this getting past Apples review process if it WAS a ripoff. Plus, I'm just going by the gameplay video and screenshots, but this game seems to be pretty well done and has a lot of depth to it. I just can't see a dev team going through that much work and waste that much talent and money on a game that could be pulled at any time. Not to mention getting sued by Nintendo. They are pretty good about nipping stuff in the bud. This would have to be a pretty big coincidence for it to be this blatant and somehow fall through the cracks at Apple AND not get noticed by Nintendo. I dunno. Then on the other hand, IF Nintendo were to secretly soft launch a game, why in the US? I'm sure Pokemon is way more popular in Japan, but why not in like some smaller country? Your guess is as good as mine. I'm gonna download it and judge for myself, but something just doesn't seem right here. I'm gonna say it's secretly Nintendo ond DeNA. I love a good conspiracy theory. killercow Well-Known Member Apr 8, 2009 3,783 1 38 https://twitter.com/killercow #20 killercow, Dec 7, 2015 Last edited: Dec 7, 2015 I don't see that as a soft-launch at all. The game is available in the US, in all of Europe, in Australia, in Canada, in New-Zealand... It's available everywhere except in Asia. And launching with something as blatant as "DNA Games"?
