Looking for traditional type RPGs that are turn based and resemble something close to final fantasy VI or chrono trigger? Can be new or old... (iPod 4 gen)

I'm really interested as well! I just got an iPhone 4S and I'm looking forward to all the games I get to experience on this platform!

There are not many at all. In my opinion, the only good ones are Chaos Rings, Final Fantasy III, and Crimson Gem Saga, which is by far my favorite of the three.

    Chaos Rings
    Chaos Rings Omega
    FF1
    FF2
    FF3
    Crimson Gem Saga
    Ash

Those are definitely the best ones. It's a short list sadly. Most of the RPGs on the AppStore are action RPGs. Chrono Trigger will be on the AppStore before the end of the year. Add in Alphadia, Symphony of Eternity, and Eternal Legacy if you're looking for a top 10 iOS JRPG list.

Lol, Rimelands is definitely not a JRPG.

I'm not sure the last two games on your list and SF2 are considered JRPGs. Dragon Fantasy and Guardian Saga are both excellent games though. I'd pass on Vay and Monster RPG 2.

Chaos Rings and Chaos Rings Omega, plus FF 1/2/3 if you liked those (I actually don't). OP, you're in luck because Square-Enix announced that Chrono Trigger would be released next month, so maybe look into getting that.

I've played the first ff and not really Interested in ff2 or 3, Ove also played chrono trigger like 10 Times so I doubt I'll get that either, just wish they had a had a game that resembled ct but with a different story etc...

Ash looks good I'll bE getting that one. I already have Alphadia and Dragon Fantasy. I thought dawn of magic was ok but the lack of dpad made me give up with it. Vay looks the same way with lack of dpad...

Syphony of eternity looks good but for 8.99 I dunno, Monster rpg 2 looks good but I'm not sure. Guardian gem saga I think is probly really good but it's 9.99.

Chaos rings doesn't really interest me I dunno y.... Is it like final fantasy?

Try Gailardia for free... iffy UI but promising.

Also Phantasy Star II and RPG Quest - Minimae,

I hated Crimson Gem Saga, very bland.
