They are both really good. I kind of prefer AW 2.0 for its variety of gameplay and control methods, the OF integration, and the fact that it was made by a 15-year old. It's impressive for any age. Critical Wave has slightly tighter controls and crazy bosses to battle. Either one is worthwhile.
i'm going to have to go with critical wave because of the better feeling it gives me. i don't know why but it just seems to feel better. there's only one mode though, and it is harder than abstractwar so it's really a matter of opinion
good choice. but be warned, critical wave is the harder game so you've either got to be real patient or real good
Critical Wave is *very* challenging. Don't expect to make it past stage 3 or 4 on hard for your first few games, until you get used to the enemy spawn and movement. Easy mode, on the other hand, is very very easy. I'd recommend skipping it if you have previous experience with dual-stick shooters, as otherwise you might fall into thinking that the game is boring, which it certainly isn't.
I have received a lot of critical about the high difficult of AW 2.0. I haven't played Critical wave, but I think AW 2.0 isn't exactly easy. And AbstractWar 2.0 has got co-op multiplayer. +1 Sorry, I shouldn't write in this topic. hehe
