Slightly better battery, and the speakers are much worse (only one, so it only provides Mono, no Stereo or Surround), but almost identical other than those things and the actual form factor. More comfortable to hold than that tiny little thing that the original is. Why do you plan to get a 2DS over a 3DS or 3DS XL?

Perhaps get the Vita now, then get one of the *New* 3DS's when they come out early next year? This is the best plan IMO, they *New* models have a plethora of improvements, including the new second analog "nub" for dual analog control
That's good to hear! What games are you going to get? I suggest not writing off the eShop because there is a plethora of fantastic titles on there, many superior to full triple A releases
So my terrible letdown story - I saw a pre-order for Legend of Zelda :Majora's Mask for the 3 DS being released on Dec 31 - so I rushed down to Best Buy hoping to score one - nope - none in stock. Went to the special order desk and they could not find out when they would be in stock - and after much gnashing of teeth and getting managers and such involved trying to figure out why we could not find the game - turns out the pre-order is for Dec 31, 2015 - not 2014... Ah, single digits and decimal points - they will get you every time...
I just finished Professor Layton & the Miracle Mask, loved it so much that I went and bought all remaining 5 games in the series xD I can hear my wallet crying now Dx
A premium "mario" themed version of the ios and android game Puzzles and Dragons was announced yesterday and is coming out in japan. I sorta hope it sees a western release as I quite enjoy it on my phone.
SpongeBob Heropants is coming to Xbox, PS Vita and 3ds in March Since the movie will be 3d this game should look especially good on the new 3ds whenever it comes to North America

Ugh so jealous! Lol no release date yet but it seems like sometime this spring. There is a Nintendo Direct tomorrow so they might announce the date then.
