I am a big fan of the Star Fox series and I'm wondering what's the closest experience to that I can get in the App Store. And yes I would prefer it to be in Space
Same here lol. I am pretty sure it has a lite version though. It seemed to play pretty well and is still on my (rather large) list of apps to get sometime in the future.
One thing that turned me off about that game is the price 5.99 for a game from June last year? lol I'll wait for a sale.
Controls are good, you can choose between accelerometer or touch controls. It's a big game too, the map is massive. You basically go around between space stations and planets where you will find jobs which you can do such as transporting someone, clearing minefields, hunting bandits, taking down big space ships etc. The jobs earn you money which you can spend on new ships and upgrades. It's a great game, I would definitely recommend it.
Galaxy on Fire 2 has been announced -- you may want to hold off till it comes out, since it's supposed to be a big improvement over the original (which wasn't bad in the first place).
Nope, unfortunately. What I've heard has come from a bump of the Galaxy on Fire thread. I was just reminded of another game that some people have described as a combination of Sky Fox and Mario Kart: Pirate Wings. I just posted about it in the Overlooked Games thread in the Game Discussion section. It definitely runs better on the 3Gs and 3rd Gen iPod Touch, but from what I've heard it's decent on a 2nd Gen as well. At .99, it's a crazy bargain.
