I have the iPhone version. Is it worth getting the iPad version or is there not much difference?

Sure is. I always get "Water sucks" messages and "water is awesome!" messages back to back. Kinda like the roads in the previous version always saying traffic sucks even when it didn't. Disappointing, but oh well.

The game is tempting at 0.99 cents, but after reading the comments in the APP Store, the game is full of bugs. Would you guys recommend it still?

I came to this site because of a search "raising land simcity iPad". Says it's not possible. I have a few little ponds in my starting map, is it really impossible to claim that land to build something there? That would be really lame

I'm interested as well. It's a shame if there isn't a great simcity game for ipad bc the system is made for simcity.

There is another bug that causes you to get conflicting messages about traffic. The game will tell you that "commuters can't get to work" and then a second later it will tell you that there are no traffic problems. Just ignore. Finally, a third bug is that you will keep getting messages about not enough tech jobs. Sometimes it's legitimate, but often it is not. Just keep the tax credits for electronic industries on. Other tips: the biggest wastes of money in this game are bridges (try not to build them), tourism promotion, which does nothing to help your city, "clean industry association," which does absolutely, positively nothing to get you cleaner industry. Also, the "electronics jobs fair" is a huge waste of money and, in my experience, does absolutely nothing to bring high-tech jobs to your city. Be careful of how many schools you build. Tap on the ? symbol and then tap the schools. If your schools are 50% or less filled, then you have too many. Do the same for police stations. You don't need as many as you think. If there is a police station that has zero arrests per month, nuke it (it's tricky though because the ones that you think are needed usually aren't). Set commercial taxes to 1 or 2 percent. You don't need as many of them as one would think. Then you should rape the residents and industry with taxes (that leads me to another bug, you'll keep getting messages saying that residential taxes are skyrocketing, even though you haven't raised them. Ignore). Finally, putting in the country club an/or the lighthouse by the water, and then put in light residential zones next to them. Will get you those cool mansions! |
