Age of Rivals - Deep Strategy Boardgame iOS Edition Coming In June

Age of Rivals brings deep civilization-building strategy in a fast-paced card game! There are many paths to victory in this competitive card drafting game featuring 12 playable characters and hundreds of cards ranging from great pyramids and war elephants to sneaky spies and crafty merchants.

After successful launches on Kongregate and Steam, the mobile edition of Age of Rivals is coming to iOS in June. This will be a premium version of the game with no in-app purchases.

Review Highlights
“There are many ways to overcome another empire: economy, culture, espionage, religion, building great works, and war... there is always war. In Age of Rivals, war is beautiful.”
9/10 – Scorecery

“Civilization and Settlers of Catan meets Magic”
4/5 – OnRPG

Key Features
Age of Rivals was inspired by boardgames like 7 Wonders and Dominion and CCGs like Hearthstone, but perfect for a mobile-sized screen. We designed it to be ideal for 1 or 2 players to play in 10 minutes, and we emphasized depth and replayability.

And unlike many CCGs, all cards unlock at a constant pace, and you never get duplicate cards you don't need. There are no in-app purchases.
  1. Play as 12 unique characters
  2. Unlock over 200 cards with unique special abilities
  3. Ranked public matchmaking
  4. Private friend matches
  5. Alliances with other players
  6. Daily missions
  7. Monthly tournaments
  8. Single player challenge levels

I'll be all over this for sure. Not many premium ccgs our there that also have online multiplayer. White wizard games (star realms and epic which is alpha right now) is the only one that comes to mind.

This is the first time I've heard about the game. I like the idea of "ranked public matchmaking", assuming it's realtime. How much will it cost BTW?

Yes, it's realtime and cross-platform, so you can usually get matched pretty quickly because there's already a community playing on Kongregate and Steam. We're still not sure what the price will be, but it will be comparable to other premium card games and boardgames (under $5).

Cool, I like the 'private friend matches' ability! Anyone know if this is for both iPhone and iPad? Or filesize?
