I am a Junior English (writing concentration) major at a private university, and a native English speaker. I work as a writing tutor and TA for classes here as well. I have been working with words for over half of my life. If you need someone to write a scenario, create dialogue, proofread, or edit, just send me a PM or post in this thread. I don't really care about pay so much as I just want to do something fun and creative. Can you write an ode to Pokemon in iambic pentameter, segueing into a haiku finale about why Survivorman's Les Stroud is superior to Man vs. Wild's Bear Grylls? EDIT: It all needs to have a rhyme scheme, by the way.

I remember learning about poetry and iambic pentameter in like 7th grade maybe. Nice job for 10 minutes though.
I'm not sure schools over here cover poetry at all, maybe just a very basic level... good thing too if you ask me
Lol don't get me started on US public education, it felt like the worst way I could spend 12 years of my life. Poetry was part of the curriculum, but contrary to what the teachers told me, I'm not finding any practical application for it as an adult Maybe they don't realize that the majority of works of "fine art" don't start making money until the author/painter/sculptor/etc is dead.
Is there really any need to be rude to a uni student who has enough initiative to seek writing work in the gaming industry? Good on him! Hopefully your 14 year old daughter has some manners.
SkyMuffin, I checked out your samples. I think your writing is above average, but with plenty of room for improvement. What impressed me the most is the Pokemon/Bear Grylls poem. You saw a completely absurd request as an actual challenge. Most people would have laughed it off. You came up with a funny little poem on the spot. Based on just that, if I had some light writing work to do, I would seriously consider hiring you. I hope you have some luck with the gaming industry.
Hey, sorry if you took it that way. There was no rudness intended. I was simply making an observation based on the level of poetry my daughter produces. She's actually been published locally, and it constantly surprises me how deep thinking she is and how she translates that into writing form. I CAN actually see how that may have come across, though, in hindsight.
Thanks! To be honest, I've worked with creative writing mostly, so I am still trying to get used to the formal academic/press style. I know that my sample review, for example, isn't the greatest in the world. It's a work in progress, haha.
Hey, thanks! I know this is late-- but does you have any suggestions or ideas for review writing? Every time I write a review I just feel like I'm going through a laundry list of things, like "gameplay, graphics, music, etc," instead of really giving an accurate impression of the game.
