They jacked up the price almost a month ago. xraydash Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2012 58 0 0 #10 xraydash, Aug 12, 2012 I picked this up recently when it was on sale for $1.99, but you had to make the purchase from within the game after downloading it for "free." Unless... is there any way they could have removed the IAP and tried making it a paid game, then decided to go back to demo with IAP? Filing Cabinet Well-Known Member Aug 20, 2011 997 0 16 #12 Filing Cabinet, Aug 12, 2012 yeah, you could do that. but that's not a great thing to do, because users who would have bought the full game when it was paid, will not be able to reinstall without losing the full game unlock. Tilt to Live is a pretty well known game, I doubt the dev would need to resort to doing such things. This is not a temporary free like other apps on this section of the forum, right? If so, I see nothing wrong with their price hike and drop. DBC CygnetSeven Well-Known Member Feb 6, 2010 7,585 30 48 #18 CygnetSeven, Aug 13, 2012 If that logic prevails, then if they raised the price to counter the hack, then shouldn't they have made the IAP free? HerbertKornfeld Well-Known Member Oct 13, 2008 141 1 18 #19 HerbertKornfeld, Aug 13, 2012 This makes no sense. They didnt raise the price just for the hell of it, they raised the price to avoid being defrauded. And never mind that dropping their in-app unlock would have required significant development effort, and that it would have taken weeks to rearchitect and to get approved. Had they magically snapped their fingers and simultaneously dropped the in-app unlock, their game would have been suddenly free, in its entirety, for every user who ever downloaded whats essentially the trial version of this game. Why would they do this? This is a premium title, and hopefully its making premium dollars. Why would they give it away for free, legally, to everybody, when the whole reason Im speculating that they raised the price was to avoid giving it away for free to a tiny subset of users that mightve otherwise pirated the app. Think.
