iShoot is great since it has a weapon editor and a rules editor. It also has local multiplayer over wifi There is also another game I am testing right now which is a lot of fun and has online multiplayer but I can't say a whole lot about it right now
Its probably that SpaceHogs or StarHogs from IUGO. Thats the only other one i know of that is in development.
I think just wait for Team 17 to release worms. It should be coming soon. In the mean time, check out these threads (I may be missing some as there are a few questions about worms-like games in the past): http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=6292&highlight=worms http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=5352&highlight=worms
WTH!?!?! PTD offers 10x more weapons, 10x more accurate controls, and is 10x better than iShoot. People only like iShoot because it was the first tank artillery game to come to the app store, then PTD came along got nothing but 5 star reviews and some sparse 1 star reviews. Those 1 star reviews were people who thought PTD copied iShoot but PTD was actually one of the first ever!!! PTD is the true winner.
The closest worms like game has gotta be iSnail as it's complete knock off of Worms. However, the original worms is already coming this summer.
I agree with Vegent, wait for the game we're testing. It is high quality stuff. Its NOT worms and NOT starhogs. Well, get those two when they come out also
Did you know that you can create your own weapons in iShoot? SO: iShoot has 100x more Weapons than PTD! better controlls? Yes, but those in iShoot aren't alot worse.
why not just wait for worms to come out. according to pocket gamer its been submitted... http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Worms+(iPhone)/news.asp?c=14176 "The initial release, which was submitted to the App Store yesterday, will include pass-to-play multiplayer along with a host of different CPU teams to face off against, who range in difficulty, temperament and intelligence. The famous Worms speech banks have also been fully re-recorded, including US Sports, Scousers, Angry Scots, Soul Man, Cyber Worms and more unlockable voices as you progress (alongside regionalised languages). It's undeniably appealing to see an iPhone game development which isn't planning on firing out bug fixes after release, but has gone through the same level of quality control that a boxed retail game would receive, so slither over onto the edge of your seat for the game's imminent App Store release."
Oh great! It was submitted yesterday! I'm pretty sure Apple would approve it pretty quickly. Can't wait for it. What do you think the price will be? I think 4.99.
