Hello, Can you use the terrain to your advantage? Eg. Fire a spell to hit a target on the other side of a rock or do more damage from a higher elevation? Or perhaps tall grass or deep water which limits the movement of certain units? Thanks
Hey, I'm the lead artist of the game (character designs, illustrations, interface, texture work...) nice to hear you like what you see gemineye62, terrain does not affect movement, but trees or rocks may block vision to ranged units. nkarafo, we are a very small team, but all great fans of many tactics games, so yes, Fire Emblem was an inspiration. I really like games like Jean D'Arc (PSP), Final Fantasy Tactics, Advance Wars, X-Com... We will update with some gameplay videos soon, so you can check how the game works
Missions We want to show you how missions work in the game. From Adastrea to the Islands of Fog, you will face relentless pirate Berserkers, spooky Custodians from Khoda and the savage Gerspent battlemaidens. Swords of Anima offers a great variety of missions in different scenarios through the Campaign: - Conquer: defeat all enemies in the map. - Night raids: attack the enemy camp under the moonlight. - Last man standing: survive against endless waves of attacking foes. - Sieges: breach through the enemy lines to get to the castle doors. - Boarding party: defend your ship in a battle over the sea. - Ambush: capture the enemy VIP leader before he escapes. - Bodyguarding: escort an ally character to the destination point. - Help captives: set free your allies from a dungeon before it´s too late.
Can you please tell us how is the progress of this game? E.g. it's 60% complete, it's 80% ?? It seems very good. Thank God is without iap !! Do you have also combat animations or it's just simple? I'm struggling to find a GOOD Advance Wars or Fire Emblem clone to ios but I haven't found anything. I really really hope this will change everything !!
Marcus70, thank you! nkarafo, the game is almost done. We keep on testing it ,and as my partner said, we hope it will be ready in september... 95%? The game switches to a more cinematic camera when you start combat, it doesn't fade to a "combat scene", it pans and zooms to get a better view and then returns to the normal view Also you can rotate camera in 90º degrees or zoom in/out anytime. The game is not as huge as Fire Emblem (no marriage for example ) but we're sure fans of tactical games are going to have a good time with this. And we hope to get new people into this genre. About IAP, that's right, we want you to get a full game. We are still talking about future content for this game, like some kind of extra or side missions (a prequel for any character?), but you will get this content for free in future updates.
We can wait a bit more up to September. It's okay. As for the fight with the zoom, it maybe good. We haven't see it in action yet but I think it will nice. I don't mind marriages (who cares actually..) but I would like to see a similar combat triangle scheme to Fire Emblem with axe, sword and lance or to see a preview of the result before go to the real fight so that you can balance your move. In some turn based games, you don't know the exact percentage and it is somehow more difficult and frustrating too to memorize what wins and what loses and the estimated percentage. Good for you that you may give to us extra free content in the future. Keep up the good work.
gotta say I'm interested in this one and i hope a September release is still possible. I recently played through a bit of Lionheart Tactics on my iPhone, but its so IAP ridden that i can't recommend it to anyone; even if they love this style of game. Seeing this game in a similar art style and being free IAPs is a huge plus for me. Would love to see some video. Cant wait!
Ha! I never look at the Upcoming games thread. Just happen to notice the title on the bottom right side of the page, and it sounded interesting. Looks and sounds great.
