This is for anyone who's in this situation, or will be with Christmas coming up. What games are great on the iPad? I don't care if I already own it on iPod/iPhone. Something that takes advantage/looks very nice on iPad. Polished What apps are absolute necessities? Outside of games, what are some really well done apps. Whether it be twitter clients, sports, utilities, etc
Games: galaxy on fire 2, lego hp, fruit ninja hd, flight control hd, nfs shift pvz hd, puzzle quest hd to name a few Apps: comiczeal, air video, pocketinformant hd (if your into that) netflix...
2xl rally racing, aqua moto 2, settlers by game loft, train yard, world of goo when it gets approved lol, Gta Chinatown, call of duty zombies, chaos rings, ff1, edge, spider Bruce mayor. So many amazing games.
In terms of apps, you need good reader to send multiple attachments and other cool stuff, iBooks, Netflix, downloads hd browser, atomic web browser, vlc player, abc player, splash top remote desktop.
It isn't out yet, but one game that you MUST have on your iPad (and will be out before Christmas, barring any major screw-ups from Apple) is WORLD OF GOO!! Seriously. You need this game.

Samurai 2 Grand Theft Auto Mirror's Edge Civilization Revolutions Fieldrunners HD Highborn HD Battle for Wesnoth Chaos Rings 100 Rogues Zen Bound 2 Scrabble UNO UZU Osmos HD There's also some fun music apps: Korg iElectribe Korg iMS-20 Rebirth Seline HD Magic Fiddle And as for non-game essentials: Sketchbook Pro Star Walk PlainText (as a Notes replacement) Evernote Notebooks (for more serious note taking) Notes Plus (if you like handwriting notes) Reeder (for RSS feeds) Flipboard Pulse News (alternative RSS reader) Good Reader (best PDF reader) Twitter (the official app) OmniGraffle (expensive, but useful if you use OmniGraffle much) I also regularly use the NY Times app, the Financial Times app, and The Economist app. If you're a subscriber, then the Netflix app and Hulu Plus app are must-haves as well.
