Convince me otherwise. Achievements perhaps? I don't want to dismiss it out of hand I just genuinely don't know what use it'd be here so totally open to reasoning.

Aside from maximum score, maybe highest stage reached, highest number of those things you collect? These will have a maximum score though.

Max number of things killed before death? Fastest time to beating all stages (and start everyone's time a 99:99? Number of stages beaten without shooting?

Anyways, all I can think of so far.. Most are dumb ideas that I'm just throwing out there...

Ooh, not dumb at all, I've had my head in this for the best part of a year now so I'm completely blinkered in so many ways. This is a massive help

I like the idea of timing stuff, actually. I could do that on a per stage and a time-to-finish sort of thing.

Also, I'll totally have a fiddle with the non-shooty one as well and see if that works. It could be a laugh if I can pull it off OK.

Will have a word with Jeff and see if he's up for doing the GameCentre parts and I can add those bits if he is.

Is there anyway that we can have an option to turn off the shadow ghosts? I lose the main ship all the time cause of all the ghosts, wish I could turn them off.

Maybe on icade too, can there be an option to use the buttons to fire in different directions? Vertex blaster does this where the buttons shot in different directions, maybe cool in this game too.

Not right away but I'll look into giving them a quick tweak before I throw this back over to Jeff to throw up the pipe to Apple tomorrow to see if that helps any.

And yeah, I'd deffo like to do that with the iCade if only to see how it works out. We're a bit hobbled in that I've got an iCade and Jeff hasn't but Jeff has a dev account and I don't and we're on opposite sides of the world so that makes doing anything substantial with it a bit awkward. But! Hopefully we'll be able to do something about that in the next few weeks anyway.

Update is out, dual stick controls are much better. Still would like to see the ability to turn off the ghosts in the next update.

Curious to see how it will play on my icade, be back a little later with my comments on icade core joystick play.

Skipped to the last page, here, but since leaderboards would end up moot, globally (none of my scant friends have breached 5K in Jetpack Joyride, so boards may still be viable, depending on ease-of-capping), why not put in cheevos for reaching "Max X"?

How's the Greenlight goin', if that's not too OT?
