Hi me and my partner have been working on this RetroGameBox for 6 months now and finally its ready for release. For the launch the RetroGameBox will include 10 games , with more games to be added for free via updates. We are so excited to finally complete this huge collection of fantastic games for your enjoyment. Each video features a different and exciting game. The price will be 99 cents and will go up after we add more games. Check out our facebook page here for more videos http://www.facebook.com/pages/retrogamebox/209131022444534?sk=wall We will be posting more videos as we make them. We also love feedback so tell us what you think.
1. The Blocks Cometh rip 2. Donkey Kong with Sonic Rings 3. Pocket Tanks rip 4. I don't know what THAT is, but it's not something I want to play. I suggest investing in an artist, one from Pixeljoint.com, if you really want a RETRO gamebox. And make the game/s original. The Blocks Cometh and Pocket Tanks are great because of their art AND originality.
Why so harsh? No modern game is truly original. But I do think the devs should work on the art a bit more.
I think you jump to conclusions a bit quick. A rip off is something that you take just the elements of the game and make your version. The games we made add alot of new elements to the genre , not a rip of them. Dont be to quick to judge , just because something looks similar.
Thanks for the feedback guys!!! Me and my partner believe in value and we worked hard to make the games fun. Plus once its released , we will listen to feeback on what other games to add in the future via updates.
Right now we have the game waiting for apple approvel. That process is sometimes fast or sometimes slow.
there will come way more stuff, some games aren´t that "retro" - yes. that´s because the initial thought was to only do only retro stuff but we quickly realized we wanted to add just everything (for now and in the future). appstore release will hopefully be around the 1st (maybe even sooner!). it will cost $0.99 so you´ll get a lot of bang for the buck!
Also lets not forget about "Orange Guy" which is a little platformer-puzzle-skill game where you have to solve/go through plenty of levels and discover hidden secrets! The tricky thing about this game is that you move around using your gun´s blowback!
looks coooooool~ regarding the art, i believe the current art fits the game quite well because the gamebox is retro themed. nice work!
The 4th one totally reminds me of Coconut Drop i think it was called with the crab. I dont mind some copies but saying stuff like 'original gameplay' during the Blocks Cometh rip off is amusing. I love retro things (Loveeeee retro games from the 80's and early 90's) but this just seems a poor compilation of rip offs. I've got the Gamebox compilations and again a lot of those seem to be 'clones' but its well worth it. When i read retro gamebox i was expecting some great clones from yesteryear (Centipede, Pacman, Mr Do etc) , clones of classic retro titles not recent ones.
