I'll agree that async would hugely improve the game, but only in the manner you described as giving players an ability to create a game without both players being present. The actual action itself requires too many activations from both players to be a fit for async. I would think of it like with Lost Cities, where the game loses a lot of its charm (for me) when played over a number of days.
In any case, before async and any more content updates, we need stability |

The 1.1.1 update is up, fixing the online gameplay... but there's no one online -_- Anyone looking to play a bunch of games to try and unlock a few extra characters to see if the other characters are worth buying can PM me to set up match times. We can easily unlock at least a few more characters quickly.
