There's more than one fighting series, you know. This one goes back to 1994. Looks good, but fighting games are all about the controls. SF4 pretty much nailed them, so there's hope!
Yeah. It's spoiled us now for 0.99 with the online play. Won't be picking this up until it also gets online, and especially not at this price!
SF 4 Volt is now $6.99, regular SF4 is $4.99. For fans of the genre, it's all about the details, and I'm sure they would be able to go on at length about how KoF is a radically different experience from SF4. Personally I'm on the fence, since fighting games are not really my thing (though I've enjoyed SF). It does look like a good port.
I'm with you Square. On the fence at the moment, but I'm hoping KoF is good enough to warrant doing a Humpty Dumpty in getting off that fence and buying it. Just minus the egg shell.
I like this series but at this price think I'll wait for a sale especially as I just picked up volt for 59p last week.
Holy crap, this came out of nowhere! Very interested- hopefully somebody will have impressions before long...
haha, yeah, that one was a travesty... Avoided it just by the screenshots. This, however, looks like it at least *resembles* the real thing to a degree.
I am interested to see how this turned out. After owning all of the Neo Geo systems over the years, I am a KoF fan and have enjoyed the series.
I didn't play too much NEO-GEO back in the day (they were prohibitively expensive) but it was such a great system, from the bit I saw of them. It would be absolutely amazing if Samurai Showdown could be ported to iOS.
The Neo*Geo was largely designed for the arcade market, that's where most if us got our KoF and Metal Slug fix.
I had a friend who had the home console, which I am pretty sure was just the same cartridges that were used in the arcade, and he had Samurai Showdown, which I also saw in the arcades at the time. Unfortunately he and I had a falling out just after he got it, so I didn't get to enjoy his system for very long.
They aren't exactly the same, the actual carts are designed slightly different but both versions contain the home and arcade roms. I have a converter to play the arcade carts on mine.
