Overall production values and vicious action put Samurai II on par with console 3D brawlers. Screenshots don’t do Samurai II justice – the fluid action has to be seen running at 60 frames per second on the Retina display or popping off the iPad screen. But looks alone won’t carry a game – the developers listened to fan feedback and improved gameplay throughout. With a new virtual d-pad, dynamic camera, environmental puzzles, traps, and vicious new enemies, Samurai II is brand new experience for hack ‘n’ slash gamers on the go. Samurai II sends Daisuke on a quest for revenge across the war-scorched countryside. From a seafaring village to a flying fortress to the legendary Isle of the Dead, the samurai will stop at nothing to hunt down his arch-enemy Orochi. Will he get his Vengeance? FEATURES: * Intuitive virtual joystick ensures you’re slicing up baddies, not swiping the screen. * Dynamic camera finds the best perspective for each encounter, adding variety while keeping focused on the action. * Tense, quick and gory battle sequences! - Battle hordes of on-screen enemies wielding new weapons and sporting unique abilities. - Stay nimble and plan your attacks – roll out of harm’s way and eliminate ranged enemies like the Samurai Archer before they can strike. * Improved gameplay includes new features. - Solve environmental puzzles, avoid dangerous traps, and discover useful items. - The fight is on - not to worry, the combat never takes a back seat to platforming or fetch-quests. * RPG elements reward skilled players – upgrade the Samurai’s health, buy new attack combos and upgrade them to devastating levels. * Between levels, gorgeous anime-style comic panels tell the samurai’s tale with original hand-drawn artwork. * New survival mode pits the samurai against waves of enemies, giving hardcore players a score-attack mode to hone their skills. Two games in one! * Advanced AI system on par with console games. Goal Oriented Action Planning architecture is used in many PC and console games. * Apple Game Center support, including Leaderboards and Achievements. *Support iCloud to transfer save between various devices *Support MFI Controllers (Gamepads) * Original soundtrack – in classic samurai movie style, soft music builds with the heat of battle. I've actually never heard about this, but those graphics look pretty cool. Does anyone know if the gameplay is any fun? Graphics are one thing, but I'm more about gameplay. I'd rather have a game with okay graphics and awesome mechanics over a game with beautiful graphics and crappy play. I can't imagine anyone not liking this. Exact-Psience Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2012 22,664 2 38 The Work-At-Home Guy Philippines #5 Exact-Psience, Feb 2, 2013 The game's pretty fun. Think Shadowgun (not deadzone)... It's basically somewhat lacking in mechanics, but everything that's in it is just executed perfectly from controls to gameplay. bramblett05 Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2012 5,682 0 0 #6 bramblett05, Feb 2, 2013 Wasn't people complaining that it didn't run at 60 fps as it says it does? Dunno if a update fixed it or not but was curious. I don't have a touch, so don't really know about that. I lost it because it was on the account I shared w/an ex and had to shut down, but I really enjoyed it. Thing is, what made it stand out besides the graphics were the swipe controls. Without them, I figure it's just another hack+slash. It actually worked great. Once you started memorizing the atacks, you could decimate enemies in no time. One of the few gesture-basd games that really pulled it off. Sometimes when i attempt to dodge, i still press circle. The game is butter smooth though... And the game is far from being unplayable coz im sure i can adjust myself to the scaled button sizes on the ipad mini. masvil Well-Known Member Apr 24, 2011 420 0 0 #15 masvil, Feb 3, 2013 Taken. I confirm, framerate on iPhone 4 is VERY good. Maybe the best pure hack-and-slash for iOS. A definite must have for any arena style hack and slash lover. See for yourself but ignore the campy voice acting at the beginning, it's not in the game. Thank God!
