Rovio and 20th Century Fox join forces to create a new game, Angry Birds Rio! The game will launch with 45 dedicated levels based on the highly-anticipated motion picture, with regular updates lined up for the future. The game will be available for download on smart phones and tablets worldwide.

Angry Birds Rio - coming to App Stores everywhere in March!

Deffo milking it! I'm quite bored of it now and still have many levels left to finish on seasons version. At one point I was obsessed with getting 3 stars on the original one, but now it's way too jar and rather boring.

I guess I will end up buying this anyway! Sadly.

This looks awful. And only 45 levels? Why would this sell to anyone except Angry Birds players?

Yeah, you're right. This will only target the 10,000,000 Angry Birds players. What are they going to do??

I wished they showed a bit of gameplay, but oh well. I loved the game until it got so big and maybe just a tiny bit overdone. Now it's good, but it's lost its shine IMO

Curious if this will be free or not. I'm not sure how it wouldn't be, it seems kind of tacky to need to pay for what basically amounts to interactive advertising for a movie, no?

Yeah it will probably be free. There's probably gonna be a load of ads on it telling you to check out the movie.

But it might be paid, by including exclusives to the movie.

    Who knows?

I hope that the game has a more stylized visual style, just like in that trailer. If it's the same Angry Birds as before, I'm not buying it.

 This will without a doubt be the best Angry Birds yet! The monkeys are awesome and I can't believe there are boss battles. Finally, AB with a fresh twist!

Yesterday they announced the release date: March 22. Just 7 days away. But its only 45 levels with increased difficulty and boss battles

In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the upcoming Fox motion picture, RIO. From the creators of Fox's blockbuster ICE AGE motion picture franchise, RIO debuts in theaters worldwide on April 15, 2011. Angry Birds Rio will launch with 60 dedicated levels, with more content to follow via app updates.

    Different info everywhere.
