Hi there, I'm Quantum Sheep! You may remember me from such games as Air Supply: SOS, Air Supply - Infinite and Air Supply 1bit Run. That's a lot of Air Supply! :O Anyway! I've managed to sneakily make another game out (hopefully) next week if the review process goes well! The game's called 'Docking Sequence' and here's a pic of the game, waiting patiently for review: BLESS! So, the game's a bit of an odd one to describe. Essentially, you're in a space ship and you have to 'Dock' with the rotating space stations. A successful dock will move you onto the next level (There's 100 levels in all). *edited to add* Here's a video: I was definitely going for an Elite/2001 vibe with the game, and here's what it looks like: You'll be able to unlock new ships (10 available), new music (six tracks I think!) and new colour palettes (10 in total). Here's a look at the title screen in VB Red for example: Movement involves swiping in the direction you want to move in. How hard you swipe controls how fast you move. Tapping the screen will stop your ship moving! Every time you move/stop you'll use up a unit of fuel (top left corner). If you run out of fuel you have five seconds to dock before you explode! Any fuel remaining when you dock is added to your collected total. Any astronauts you rescue are also added. But only if you dock successfully! :I Of course, docking is never easy (as anyone who ever played Elite knows!) but I've made it even more challenging with hazards! These include Asteroids, pirates, wormholes, mines and even mysterious black Monoliths I made the game in about a month (the last one, Air Supply SOS, took almost 4 years on and off) and I fell in love with it. I hope you guys will enjoy it too! It'll be just $1 with no IAP and no ads - will try and get a video for you lovely peeps by the end of the week! Any questions then please fire away! Thanks for reading! QS =D
Instabuy as a support to a great passionate Dev...without seeing any picture or video, i don't care. Good luck and sheepy hugs !
This sounds challenging. I'm excited to play it and get a feel for what you are describing. Hoping it gets reviewed quickly!!!
That's very kind of you sir! *sheepyhugs* I just hope I continue to make games that make you feel that way! It's VERY challenging. As in, one hit and you're dead challenging. I think it's the hardest game I've made, but on the up side, you do gradually get better/used to it (I hope!). There's many ways to play it: Some might go for rescuing astronauts (to unlock music). Some might try and conserve as much fuel as possible (to unlock colours). Some might just rush through to the end! Some might just want to unlock all the ships (they have different cargo/fuel levels). Some will want to get the high score (most successful docks without dying). I hope that people will find it fun and challenging in different ways, but seldom (I hope!) frustrating! A video will help for sure - I'll get onto that tomorrow! Careful! You can get arrested in some places for stuff like that! :O Here's an extra screenshot, just for you guys! Thanks for the interest! Will update with a video soon! QS =D Edited to add: Why I oughta... *shakes sheepy fist*
Interesting new game. Looks like I'm going to have to buy another itunes card whenever this comes out. Kudos for taking an idea and running with it so quickly to a finished product. I'm assuming this will be iOS6 compatible?
Thank you! I think it's pretty unique, although you lovely lot are probably more up to date with what's out/been made to make a better judgment on that! The idea came as part of a gamejam with the theme 'flight' - I'd rewatched 2001 again and been playing a lot of Elite Dangerous and was enjoying docking much more than in the original game! I liked how actually *landing* was a mini-game in itself, and thought 'someone should make a game based on docking in Elite'. So I did Once I'd got the station and the ship movement down (it took a while!) the rest was relatively painless! As far as I recall, it'll work fine on iOS5 and up - it runs on my iPad 1, for instance (though not spectacularly well I'll admit!). Yez, Letz! How about a TA article? http://toucharcade.com/2014/12/09/docking-sequence-announced/ I AM SITTING DOWN AND DRINKING TEA AS I WRITE! :O Thanks Carter and TA - that was a fab surprise QS =D
Looks great! Any chance of an endless or random mode to ensure replayability after unlocking everything?
You won't believe it I'm sure, but I wrote a huge reply to you! Then the internet went down. DOWN. ... I KNOW. So to avoid withdrawl symptoms I forced myself to go to sleep. Well, it *was* around 4am anyway, so probably for the best! The much truncated answer is: There are some things in there that will hopefully add to the replayability factor for people, but I do like the idea of a random mode too! It will have to wait till the new year though what with Xmas and Apple's lead times and stuff like that! Thanks for the suggestion though! It's a good 'un! I think you totally get where I'm coming from with the game! Have a sheepyhug! *sheepyhugs* Are you Mike Rose? :O https://twitter.com/raveofravendale If so, welcome to TA! If not, welcome to TA! QS =D
I had the privilege to beta test this and the game is mega fun. The first time I opened it I played through the first 10 levels without stopping. It very much has the 'just one more' mentality. And when it starts getting difficult that magnetic pull get's stronger!
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing it for me It can be either - I tend to play it one handed myself OH! And here's a video as promised: (also added to the first post!) Let me know what you think! QS =D
