I'm working on so many games I cant keep track, but here is one I'm almost done with. The game is actually called, Dang! Not Another Paper Game!!! and it is a survival shmup. I submitted it for the GameSalad/Macworld Challenge, And I hope I win! Added a airstrike attack of some sort yesterday, and now, it runs good, but i still have UI stuff to mess with. tell me what you thing Don't worry, still working on Shoot Shoota and Lightspeed Racer!
Just got finished with some UI stuff and difficulty tweaks, but I want this game to be a challenge to beat. More to come...
The arts pretty sweet, I must say. Though by the screenshots I'm not sure I quite understand the concept of the game... A video would be nice. Do you control the triangle at the bottom and shoot the enemies coming down at you?
It is a top down shmup, or shoot-em up game. yeah, the triangle is your controlling character, but you can control its horizontal axis. I'll try to post a video ASAP.
I now added a graph paper background to sort of give it a "doodle" look to it and to make everything more complete. One of the pics have the special weapon in use, but you can only use the weapon 3 times.
Really close to submission now, but is their anything someone would like to see in the game that would make it more interesting?
finished adding in some sounds and extra particle effects, so now the game looks and plays great! now to the submitting...
Game is finally in review, hope it gets approved quickly. Also, is there anything you do not like about the look of the game? Anything I should look at based of the video and pictures?
Well, I was actually going to suggest maybe adding more color [when enemies explode] but then I read your post on this page saying you added particle effects so that should do. Have you added an online leaderboard? [OF preferably..]
Until GameSalad lets devs implement Openfeint, I can only save the highest best score, and i'll try to put up a local leaderboard at the very least. As for the color, I can make it more "bloddier" red.
GS won't allow OF to be implemented? Why not? But ok that sounds good I think overall though, color would be nice. Maybe just random enemies are different colors or something like that.
