Sony announced that Bond will be arriving in August and be called 'Top Agent'. It will see Bond facing an array of classic villains. Apparently it will also have multi-player connectivity; http://uk.wireless.ign.com/articles/967/967612p1.html
Sony announces big names for the iDevices. by Levi Buchanan US, March 30, 2009 - At CTIA in Las Vegas this week, Sony Pictures Television announced an aggressive slate of mobile games based on film and television properties, including Ghostbusters, Angels & Demons, and James Bond. A handful of the newly announced games will also be headed to the iPhone, including Ghostbusters and Bond. The Ghostbusters game is set for a June release and pits you against another spectral invasion of New York City. The Bond game, slated for August, is called Top Agent and features multiplayer functionality. Players square off against a cabal of villains from the Bond coterie. Sony is also planning a proper version of the arcade classic Q*Bert (sorry, CuBert) for the iPhone that will offer new graphics and screens. This update is set for July and will also appear on Android. In addition to these iPhone games, mobile players can also put Angels & Demons on their calendar for May 15. Sports Illustrated, Zombieland, 2012, and Voltron (based on the original cartoon) are on the schedule for release later this year. There is currently no word on if any of these titles will come to the iPhone, but considering the device's popularity, it's not out of the question. all this sounds really great. can't wait to play a REAL q bert. and bond? i hope it will be a daniel craig casino royale version mostly.
+1. I've played one of the James Bond games before and multi-player was really fun! I'm looking forward to it coming out on the iPhone!
Sony's onboard for iPhone gaming. That amazing! That's spectacular! WOOOOT! And Voltron, they say? I wasn't alive when the show aired but the robots look cool
That is interesting--Sony Pictures making mobile games that will run on other platforms. I am definitely liking the idea of entertainment companies like Sony and Paramount putting out some games. They have the financial resources to develop high-quality games at a low price point--what a great way to create some buzz about their upcoming movies! (like Angels & Demons)
You can bet Angels and Demons would be first person, puzzle style adventure games. Sounds great!!! YAY ILLUMINATI!!! CANT WAIT FOR SUMMER MOVIES!!!!!
Not so interesting as you think, if you are thinking iTouch/Phone is in competition with PSP. It really isn't (not directly, anyway). Again, the mobile market is a wholly separate market from the portable game market. Sony doesn't really have a competitor in this market (though they could have had one if they wished with the new Walkman line, but Sony really just positions those as music players only). So no biggie on their part as a whole, and Sony Pictures is run as a separate division within Sony at large anyway. I mean...Sony also makes games for Windows PCs, and Windows as we know is an MS product and MS makes XBox 360 which directly competes with Sony's PS3, but there's no conflict for Sony as a whole making Windows PC games because the PC market is, and has always been, considered wholly separate from the video game home console market. So making games for mobile platforms like the iTouch/Phone isn't in any way a conflict for Sony. They don't compete directly with anyone as they themselves aren't in the mobile market with a platform viable for gaming.
I'm hoping 2012 and angels and demons also come out for iPhone I want the world to end on my iPod touch
YAY daniel craig on the ipod!!!!!!!! (o yea, quantum of solace was wayyyyyyy better than casino royal) >:l
I hope that there will be a bunch of really cool locations to play in in the game. That's one thing thing I like about the Bond franchise.
I completely agree. If they even just ported Goldeneye with good controls I would pay $20 for it right away (assuming it had all of the weapons and levels). This would be a big disappointment if it's another Star Wars/ MGS. It better at LEAST be a FPS and I'm buying it first day out.
http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/103/1038911p1.html wii are making a version. Well, it's by Activision but will be cool. Still no sign on the iPhone though. Maybe activision will bring it ou instead seeig as they made CoD
