Wow! just been reading your last few posts and this just seems to sound better and better really like the fact that there won't be loading screens and such. that can really take you out of the experience in a game like this.
More detailed explanation of gameplay Thanks guys! Great to know youre looking forward to it We try create a seamless and immersive experience so you can really appreciate the art and feel the atmosphere, like a living animation. At least thats the lofty goal haha, hopefully it feels somewhat different.
Spaceship Dog Fights Spaceship Dog fighting AI has come on a long way, they have really good controls, can fly along side, catch up take over and do various attack sweeps on the player. Will do another days work on it then get the graphics up to par and show a video I think. Its added a whole new layer to the gameplay, looking forward to see what people think.
That's awesome. I'm glad you guys managed to bust out the enemy AI. Personally, I think the AI is the hardest part to code. (I'm stuck there in a game I'm making for fun). But it sounds like you have it set up great. Can't wait for the vid.
AI discussion Thanks dude! Its pretty darn hard, but i find a lot of the same principles from physics and behaviour transfer across. I sketch to create techniques, think of it visually and translate it to logic, maybe Ill post some stuff up on a blog when the games done. Show some techniques. Hope you like the video
Yeah, that would be nice to have. I'll probably end up flying around to each place anyway. Just to explore
Screenshot Thanks again guys, for the kinds words. Prevail Here is an in game screenshot of an exploding ship on the new City Planet.
Awesome screen. So when the ship explodes, does the pilot automatically die? Or is there some way to like 'eject' from the ship and still survive? Also, is that a gun I see. How do guns effect the overall experience? Thanks for stopping by
Thanks dude! Well if it explodes with someone inside, its never good news. BUT people can land and get out or jump out. I should add some kind of ejecting, just too cool not to add. There are weapons and action, but im trying to balance it out and not have it as the main focus, but its up to the player how they want to experience the game. If you pull a gun out and point it at someone, they will react, pointing theirs back if they have one. Or reacting more aggressively/passively if their feelings towards you and your faction is either way inclined or if they are unarmed.
Cool, I'm glad you are putting guns in as just a side note. That way the game doesn't just turn into a run-around-shooting-everything type. I like the fact that the AI have "feelings". That's a pretty cool concept that seems to enhance the realism of Prevail. Man, I'm getting more pumped for this game each second.
Hey, everything is going well but we have been focusing on getting things done rather than showing, but we will put something together for you soon. Do you prefer videos? Heres a new vehicle for now
