Game is ready! Release date: April 15 Official trailer! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Hi, we'd like to announce our next game Drylands, a post apocalyptic RPG action platformer with pixel art graphics. We don't have the exact release date but most of the game development is already completed. We wanted to create something different, taking inspiration in games like Fallout and Wasteland, integrating features like deep quests system and RPG mechanics with an action platformer. We are a two-man development team from Argentina, Drylands is our biggest project yet and we've been working on it for almost 2 years, so this is the result of only hard work. The most important features are: -Deep quests system, main plot and secondary stories, bounty hunter missions; meet interesting people in your adventure -Enemies with different factions, everyone fights for their own -Vast levels to explore and uncover its secrets; loot stashes and hidden collectables -Raider faction procedurally generated with random weapons that adapts to the player -Hack into computers, control doors, cameras, drones, turrets, read logs and messages; discover clues and codes to access new locations -Engaging boss fights -Improve your character with perks and customize your look -Procedurally generated weapons' stats with different rarities and elemental damage; shield and grenade mods -Battle in the arena to prove you are the best of the drylands -Several vendors to upgrade your equipment, arsenal, help your exploration, and a very rare items secret trader -Customizable controls; change placement, size and transparency -No in-app purchases whatsoever -60 fps in all supported devices for a smooth experience -Universal Screenshots: Questions and suggestions always welcome!
Okay angrybugs, you got my attention! Could this be a 2-d borderlands with a darker story? So instead of stat upgrades, is it going to be just weapon upgrades?
The game sounds great! It's probably just me, but the pics seem a little on the dark side to me. (Color, not thrill! LOL)
Looks great. Something a bit different from normal platformers. Presume the graphics are fine on an iPhone as they seem like they could be quite small ?
It looks awsome! It reminds me a lot of MadMax and Hokuto no Ken (Ken the survivor?) which is a very good thing, I would love to see more colours tho, like a sunset (with the destroyed buildings in the background), i think the background could be a bit more polished (a bit more details would make it looks more polished) but overall it's really good and that's an instant buy for me! Will it be icade compatible?
Seems a little reminiscent of Blackthorn. One of my favourite games, a long time ago. Seeing that and hearing about inspiration from Fallout, got my attention.
Hi everyone, thanks for your interest! About some of your questions, the graphics looks a little desaturated and grim on purpose to give the game its particular atmosphere. The size of your character is just about the size of most common platformers', the difference is that he is not "blocky" and graphics are not scaled up like other pixel art games; you should have no problem getting used to it in no time, graphics looks really sharp on the devices. You can say Drylands is like a darker 2d Borderlands, but there are lots of other interesting features also. Weapons are not upgradeable, at that it's like Borderlands, you loot, buy or win in the arena randomly generated weapons. You will be replacing them with better ones, better rarity means better stats and elemental effects. The game rewards exploration and collecting secret stashes. Lastly, we haven't planned support for iCade for now. The game is still a work in progress, some details could change and your suggestions are always welcome. Thanks for your support, people!
You will not be able to drive vehicles, altough there's an interesting quest related, but we don't want to spoil it. Mad Max was one of our inspirations and Escape from New York too!
This sounds better by the second ! Having a platformer where you have main quests and 'possibly' side quests would be great. Instant purchase when this comes out !
Makes me think of fallout meets diablo (for the loot colours) Do the character have attributes you can raise ? Or only perks ?
This screenshot shows the perks menu, when you level up or complete some quests, you will earn perk points you can use to unlock these several traits, in this case the dual gun wielding ability, you can also get health regeneration, discounts for shops, hacking expertise and some more. When you level up you also increase your max hp and the possibility of equip better weapons and mods.
