It's cool of developer to post pre-release promos although using the same codes in multiple outlets gives little advantage to audience. Really looking forward to Hunters 2.
You ARE competing with around 600 followers on twitter and the forum members of TA, with 2 promo codes between everyone. And no I'm not gloating, I missed it as well.. Sucks but I guess we will just have to wait..
Here are a few more iPad screens... The top one is the manufacturing. You choose either weapon or armour then allocate points until either you're happy or you run out of money, usually the latter.
I was lucky enough to get a code for this game - and I have to say I am very impressed! I was a day one purchaser of the original, and while it was good, it didn't grab me and I did not think it was the most intuitive game around (the interface, both in the menus and in gameplay, was not very user friendly and some things were left unexplained) and it just felt like it was repetitive and not anything special. Luckily Hunters 2 has improved on a lot of things I felt were wrong and Rodeo Games have produced a stunning sequel that you definitely need to pick up. While it may be just my recent purchase of a shiny new iPhone 4S, the graphics are very nice and the environments are varied and unique - the animations of your people are very nicely done and overall the graphical style is better than it has been. The gameplay is near-identical to the first game, but with a lot more variation, the added risk of permanent death (which personalises your characters a lot more than the throwaway aspect of the first) and while the core aspects that made the original fun to play, there is more longevity in Hunters 2 as there is a lot more variation and fun. A campaign is present, which has a nice story to it (don't expect anything epic, but more substantial than the prequel/some other iOS games) and the daily challenges are also here to give different tasks and things to do once the campaign is complete (which will take a while from what I am seeing). There are options to buy equipment, make your own armour and stuff like that, and overall the interface is very slick and easy to use - it's a lot more intuitive to get around and this makes for a better experience. So should you buy this game? If you were largely against the original for the pure gameplay genre, this will not turn your head dramatically as while it is a substantial sequel, it's not a completely different game (best example I can think of is the progression from Mario Galaxy 1 to 2). However, if you loved the original, and/or felt it had room for improvement and was a bit repetitive, Hunters 2 is definitely a game you should get, and if you are on the fence, then go for it - you'll find a beautiful, slick, exciting strategy game here that is probably the best of its kind on iOS thus far. Anticipate Thursday with excitement!
I have to agree with the above post. The basic gameplay is much the same but it is all pulled together very neatly. The graphics are much improved with some nice little effects that make it really rather pretty for a TBS. I actually enjoy decking out my hunters, the trade screen has plenty of weapons and armour. My favourite new feature is the ability to craft weapons and armour. It's expensive but there is plenty of money to be made in the extra daily contracts. Levelling up is now much improved too. Each hunter has two specialisations (support/scouting as an example) which effect the buffs or skills you can attain when you level up. The heavy weapons are also unlocked in the level up process as well as weapon/armour buffs. I have managed to hire enough hunters to get a good combination of both skill sets and weapon types. Sorry I have not been able to post more impressions. I had a rather busy week
Awesome! Glad you guys are enjoying it! @trundley The super sexy Hunters 2 is hitting the App Store this Thursday!
Thursday the 22nd that is. Right, is this going to be a worldwide relese all at the same time or is New Zealand going to get it first, then so forth?
The visuals are rich and lush. I may have missed its mention in the forum, but what will the price point be? Will there be an introductory sale or full price at the Launch?
@ColeDaddy, Hunters 2 launch will be at the £2.99 / $4.99 price point. @trundley, Launch will happen at different times across the world. As soon as your territory hits midnight (or shortly thereafter) it should be available to buy. If you're in New Zealand, Hunters 2 will be ready to buy in the next couple of hours....
Lol, NZ has to get at least something first eventually. They're about 10yrs behind in most other things; can't be too down on them getting apps 1st! Have been looking out for Hunters 2 since Pocket Gamer's Most Anticipated 2012 Top 10 List:
