Deep strategy games?

A bit different: geoDefense. Yes, it's a tower defense game, but one of the hardest and prettiest out there. Errors during the first moves can result in loosing the level at the end. There also a _long_ forums thread here regarding this game. geoDefense swarm is the second part of this game with open levels. I still prefer the first game.
