I had the Apple Tv 3 for about 5 months now and it keeps losing connection to the internet. I have real fast internet 30mb and every time I watch something for 10 minutes, airplay for 10 minutes it disconnects. It's upgraded to the latest software.

I tried calling apple and they say I have to pay for having them help me.

    Anyone have the same problem?

I've been having this problem on occasion with my 2nd gen apple tv. Guessing its just a software bug, usually resolves itself

Well its a bug that apple never heard of I guess. When I called they said they never heard of that happening but they will charge me to see if they could fix it.

I've never had any Apple device play perfectly nice with my routers.

I think the only advice they will give you is use their airport express ones and even then it's not guaranteed things will get better although it might as they seem to be doing wifi differently than everyone else whether by design or incompetence it's hard to say.

Router can't be junk. Its a newish router that can handle 300mb internet speed. Also everything else runs smooth on the router.

How? Have you tried taking your Apple TV to someone else's place and trying it on their wifi? Seriously sounds like a router issue...

    No I haven't.
But how could it be a router issue if everything else runs flawless? I have 3 laptops at my house, my desktop Mac that is wifi. iPad, iPods.
It is probably the Apple Tv itself.
I probably bought a junk, defective one.

I will try to take to my cousins house tomorrow. If it does the same thing, then its the junk Apple Tv.

It sounds like a router issue. My iPhone literally buffered Youtube videos for a very long time despite them playing instantly on my PCs, Nokia tablets etc, until I changed its settings. Google it and apply the settings.
