the switch version will have single player kick off, career mode ,women international cup along with the regular ultimate team online mode while mobile devices will still probably be getting the same half baked forty game(unless ea have a shocking change of heart which I doubt) which is kinda bad considering the switch is using 2 year old mobile chip(yeah I know the tegra x1 was as powerful as the a9x which is still relevant today performance-wise),but still it means most mobile devices(iOS and android) can handle a full blown fifa but won't get it.plus no controls aren't an excuse as this is 2017 and anyone u feels touchscreen controls aren't up to d task can easily use any gamepad of their choice

It's all about the market. Everybody that owns a switch has already spent a decent chunk of money of a dedicated gaming device, so the entire switch market is already in the mindset of spending $60 on new games, Whereas the mobile market is still made up of primarily non-gamers, meaning that EA couldn't make as much money selling a full-fledged FIFA on the App Store, as they could refreshing their free-to-play FIFA with new cards that the average player would be more than happy to spend money on.

Unfortunately it seems that's going to be the story of the App Store from now on. There's no doubt that these devices can handle full games, battlefield 4 and PvZ garden warfare were running on iPads years ago, It's just that there's no market for a multi-million dollar game to be released.

For the most part mobile/touchscreen is only good for simple games. One or two "buttons". Anything more then that and it gets unpleasant to play. And controllers for mobile are a niche product. Most people don't have them. In contrast everyone with a Switch/PS4/Xbone has a controller.

fifa 14 worked well and financially even seemed to do well.ea could have done something similar with mobile like with the switch in that they could have mixed elements from both the ps2 and ps3 maybe even ps4 to create a new custom made engine that probably wouldn't cost that much.plus I feel this is d 1st e3 since like FIFA 14 were nothing mobile was announced
