I just went to the iTunes App store and noticed a feature of the "Best Tank Games" for the iPhone (iTunes link) and I was surprised to see that iCombat was not on the list. I am not trying to toot my own horn at all here really but I do think iCombat should at least be on that list. After looking through the ratings of all the games on the list I think iCombat falls somewhere in the top to upper middle in terms of reviews. But in terms of game play there are only 2 types of games included, 3D POV tank games and turn based iShoot style games so iCombat should definitely be included as a 3rd type of game play. In any case I would love to hear your guys' thoughts on the best tank games. Also, if you have any suggestions/ help as to how I can reach out to Apple please let me know.
Iron Sight is up there but iCombat isn't?! Iron Sight isn't even a tank game! Title should have been best artillery games.
Iron Sight, Crazy Tanks, Vector Tanks, iShoot, Pocket Tanks Deluxe, Tank-O-Box, T.A.N.K. Arena Battle, and Heavy Mach.
Wow, that's really strange. I enjoyed iCombat way more than Pocket Tanks. You should write to Apple! Dunno if that'll do anything though...
I guess the reason it bothers me is because the list is so extensive - they have basically included 80% of the tank games out there. And if tank-o-box is on it with it's poor reviews then I just don't get it. I am coming out with a sick release (1.2) soon that will have better steering, global high scores, level select, 25 more levels, and some new features so hopefully iCombat will get better reviews but still... Writing Apple now but doubt it will help, anyone have any idea how to get in touch with the App store peeps?
iCombat, I have a question; how many levels will there be in total when 1.2 hits the app store? Thanks.
There will be 50 with the first 30 unlocked for skirmish mode - then you can unlock the remaining amount by reaching the levels. There will also be 10 2 player levels. Toying with the idea of a level/ campaign generator Labyrinth style but that wouldn't come until 1.3
Well, if you added global leaderboards, I'm sure it would sell a lot more. That's just my opinion though.
