Anyone slightly interested in shmups should take a look. eddieg Well-Known Member Aug 14, 2009 384 0 0 #4 eddieg, Nov 9, 2011 Great video...gotta grab it for a buck! crunc Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2008 4,575 0 0 #5 crunc, Nov 10, 2011 This game is *awesome* and totally worth a buck. Grab it now if you like 2D shooters. I love the warp mechanic and how that's used, and I love the part of the game that has you allocating points to different ship upgrades every 5 levels. That adds a layer of fun strategy. My only real complaint is that there's no way to get to the Game Center leaderboards within the game. Instead we are stuck with Crystal in-game. It does use Game Center, you just can't access it within the game. I hope they add GC in-game in a future update. Otherwise, though, this is awesomeness. flameon Well-Known Member Jul 26, 2011 1,172 0 0 #6 flameon, Nov 10, 2011 Thats with all Chillingo games. we wont be seeing gc in game. deckard666 Member May 1, 2009 8 0 0 #7 deckard666, Nov 10, 2011 On iCade I notice that in Arcade mode it auto fires constantly which makes the game impossible later and the super weapon can't be turned off once you fire it unlike the XBLA version - are these bugs or is there a way to customise the controls ? To be honest I am slightly annoyed that once you choose Arcade you can't use the iCade to select anything on the iPad - you still have to use your finger otherwise I love it awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #8 awp69, May 15, 2012 Hasn't changed yet, but this should be $.99 again sometime tonight. Also, the non-HD version will be free. One of the few games that keeps a steady place on my device. Awesome game. Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #9 Connector, May 15, 2012 Great game! One of the best games on ios. One comment on the ipad though, I have both the sd and hd versions on my ipad. I make the sd one camera tilt off, so voila I got two different games, so I don't feel like I wasted money having bought both versions. The gameplay seems so different that it seems like two different games. I do the same thing for silverfish sd and hd, for hd version, i play with joypad mode, with the sd I play with touch control, so again, it feels like 2 different games. This way I don't feel bad about paying for both hd and sd versions. Actually I do that with Infinity field, on the sd version I play it with 2d. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #10 syntheticvoid, May 15, 2012 Ha... Just bought this about a week n a half ago after waiting for a sale since I got my iPad in feb. Bought the iPod version the day it came out, and was playing in 2x mode until then... Anywho... Don't regret it. Fantastic Galaga type arcade shooter with cool warp mechanics, and loads of perks and upgrades. Definitely worth picking up for a buck... And of course worth checking out on the iPhone for free. bem69 Well-Known Member Oct 20, 2010 712 0 16 #11 bem69, May 15, 2012 Oops sorry, the iphone version is free. The movement pads are way too far apart Gunlock Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2010 472 0 16 #13 Gunlock, May 15, 2012 You can modify controls layout in the options menu (slider size to be more specific). UmbraVir Well-Known Member Sep 4, 2011 491 0 0 Student CT #14 UmbraVir, May 15, 2012 Still not feeling it as much as I should. I don't know why ._. What control schemes do you guys use? tops2 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2011 2,067 44 48 #15 tops2, May 15, 2012 I use the slider controls. If I'm not mistaken, the slider is a representation of the width of the screen, so where you touch the slider corresponds to the relative location on the screen. The wider the control seem to allow me to have more fine control of the ship, but requires the me to really move the finger to travel across the screen. I think I ended up using the fixed controls so I have better muscle memory of the exact width of the controls..and I use my right index finger to control the slider (like for most shmups I play). I use the 2 touch for warp..and forgot what configuration I use for the super shot (forgot that exact name). Hope this helps... UmbraVir Well-Known Member Sep 4, 2011 491 0 0 Student CT #16 UmbraVir, May 15, 2012 Thanks tops2 started messing around with the arcade+edge controls and I'm loving it. I'm messing around with the slider one too because I think I might have a better precision with it. Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #17 Connector, May 15, 2012 Yeah umbravir, It's a great game. I use slider controls customized to right side, multi touch, and type 2. The slider size I change because I often play this game with a stylus to get a different feel since with a stylus, I feel like I'm playing with a joystick. So for a stylus, I change the setting to wide control. For my thumb, I use normal slider settings. Also try the game playing with camera tilt off, it plays like a totally different game in 2d, so it plays more like space invaders. Sometimes I prefer this format. UmbraVir Well-Known Member Sep 4, 2011 491 0 0 Student CT #18 UmbraVir, May 16, 2012 Turned the tilt off immediately.
