All I say is it needs a d-pad control method like true NES. nikhsterboi Well-Known Member Jan 6, 2010 1,549 0 0 In an Apple store near you #5 nikhsterboi, Nov 18, 2010 I agree. robotsvswizards.com Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2010 563 1 0 Game Development, Music CA, USA Http://www.rvwgames.com #6 robotsvswizards.com, Nov 18, 2010 Last edited: Nov 18, 2010 Good Points! Thanks. I find the "virtual joystick" to have way more control unless the touch d-pad is frickin' huge! At least on the iphone anyways. iPad is another story. I'll see what we can do though because I do agree you guys 100%. The feedback here is always great! I do love me some d-pad!! I still have my original NES my grandparents bought me in '86 right in between the wii and ps3.... and it works!!! (on it's 3rd cartridge reader, but working none the less) robotsvswizards.com Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2010 563 1 0 Game Development, Music CA, USA Http://www.rvwgames.com #7 robotsvswizards.com, Nov 18, 2010 Quick update. I really can't think of a better one myself, but Super 8-Bit Santa is a bit long. robotsvswizards.com Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2010 563 1 0 Game Development, Music CA, USA Http://www.rvwgames.com #10 robotsvswizards.com, Nov 19, 2010 Ok, now you're just being fussy It's not like it's called "Super Santa's Magical Quest: Sword of the North Pole" I mean i can understand if someone just thought it outright sucked... But length? Really? lol We're not a huge corporation by any means and as you can see by the modified controls we take suggestions serious so. If you (anyone) has something better.... We tossed around a few names. "Old school Santa" or just "8-bit Santa" or even "16-bit Santa" since it has plenty from the 16bit era as well. That is an awesome name. Except put a dash in between 8 and Bits. The App Store really does need some more NES/SNES based games like this or Hook Worlds. You guys should definitely take this route on your future games. Maybe even make your next one another shooter or endless runner with this artstyle. Maybe with caves and stuff? robotsvswizards.com Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2010 563 1 0 Game Development, Music CA, USA Http://www.rvwgames.com #13 robotsvswizards.com, Nov 20, 2010 Im actually surprised there aren't more actual ports. I would love to be involved in making something along the lines of super metroid where you have to recover territory by means of upgrades. Thats one of the bestb games of all time. One of the few that I've gone back and played all the way through recently. Still holds up. doodlejumper Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2010 2,881 2 0 Stuck in traffic #14 doodlejumper, Nov 20, 2010 So will the new name be Super Santa: 8-Bits of Blood? The name that appears under the icon on the iPhone screen can be Super Santa. And yeah, a Metroid-esque game would be cool. robotsvswizards.com Well-Known Member Mar 29, 2010 563 1 0 Game Development, Music CA, USA Http://www.rvwgames.com #15 robotsvswizards.com, Nov 20, 2010 The name may change. Hard to say. It's not completely based on blood and gore. More platforming elements as well. Id hate to see us pigeonhole ourselves with a gory name. I do like Super Santa: 8-bit something though. It's not 100% my call though. doodlejumper Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2010 2,881 2 0 Stuck in traffic #16 doodlejumper, Nov 20, 2010 Maybe change your developer name too. Doesn't have to change completely. Even just changing it to Robots Vs. Wizards and removing the .com part would make it better. Or add a Studios or Ltd. or Games on the end. It will make your name more memorable. Bolt Creative is a lot more catchy than boltcreative.com. I later found out we can't change screen names. The company name is actually robots vs wizards LLC I used to like it when we first came out. But after p vs z came out for iPhone and so many games stared being this vs that our name lost some of it's magic. I actually came out with the name about 4 years ago when it was just a one man show doing web analytics and database stuff for other companies as a consultant. Didn't even intend to go into games at first. I just went with a nerdy name since I have always been a gamer.
