I'm running a IPhone 5 and I'm wondering among the 4 GTA Titles. Which one should I consider getting?
    Chinatown
    San Andreas
    GTA 3
    Vice City

How fast does GTA SA drain your battery? Would it last a hour of gameplay unplugged?

It really depends on the condition of your battery. I haven't had full hour long play sessions with it, but it just 10 minutes it drains my battery by 10% ish.

Gta 3/Vice/Chinatown dont drain as much and run better compared to SA, but you are getting a lot more content & hours from SA & a lot more variety.

I'd get Vice City just for the atmosphere but SA is much more complex is the right way.

Yeah Chinatown is good because it's been made for touch/stylus, out of the PC ports I would say SA then VC.

Has to be a proper GtA game. So I would say vice city for sure. Having that on my iphone is great. It's a true classic and one people will still be talking about in 20 years

    What constitutes "proper"?

Yes indeed, CLASSIC gta or 3d era? Chinatown Wars is a cut back to when Rockstar North was still DMA Design, the 2D era.. Gta 3 and vice city set the stage for a new genre and opened up new possibilities in gaming, thus beginning the 3D era. San Andreas then took that and advanced further than imagined, with loads of new features and gameplay, it's like GTA 3 v.3.0. Thus ends two eras of gta and into the now current HD era with 2 main games going on strong.

It really depends on exactly what's wanted here in the game. As we can go on for hours ranting about them and maybe end up getting Gameloft's Gangstar series jumbled in somehow...

A title which sold millions and was on many platforms. When the majority of people are asked about grand theft auto you think of vice city or San Andreas. Not a small cut down version on iOS like Chinatown wars.

According to vgchartz.com, Chinatown Wars sold a combined 2.33m units on PSP and DS. It's a massive game, and actually designed for portable devices.

It's also the closest to "true" GTA (the original) and the most fun I've had with any GTA game.

I spent over 30 hours with the PSP version and the iOS version has the same content, so I'd hardly call it "cut down on iOS".

I second this,I love SA ,VC and gta 3 but chinatown wars is a beast of it's own,it may not be clearly better but it has it's charm certainly.
It's amazing that you can play all major gta games from older era on Ios whereas none of them are available on hardcore portables like 3ds and my underrated vita.
