Hey peeps, I must consult your wisdom, what is generally regarded as the best, single player (can have multiplayer too but I don't want a client of an online gambling website) poker app for the iPad?

I'm going to say World Series of Poker..good single player progression:different games in different cities plus the multiplayer is pretty good.

I, too, would say World Series of Poker.

Something can be said in favour of "Casino for iPad", which includes Poker in its games. It's has a sleekly elegant feel to it, as if you're in the Hotel de Paris in Monaco.

(And in the cute department, I'm hoping that "Poker with Bob" will make it to the iPad one day)

Another vote for WSOP HD on iPad 2, it's the best.
Honorable mention to Heads Up Hold'em HD, beautiful design but it's only 1-on-1.
Poker HD not as good as the first two.

Making games. Really, did you have to ask?
    Redwood City, CA
This might be a little self-serving, but if you want a poker game that does something totally different with the interface, give Card Ace: Casino a shot. On top of being Word Ace, Texas Hold 'Em, Blackjack (and coming in the next update, Slot Machines), you get a single profile across all the games, a radically different UI/interface that takes advantage of the tablet form factor, and a whole mess of other stuff.

We'd love feedback on the interface - the whole thing was designed around the fact that you're on an iPad, not a phone, and so a lot more stuff is tactile. You can play with your chips while you're waiting for your turn, you can fold by actually mucking your cards, you go all-in by actually pushing your chips into the center - it's meant to be more like playing cards & less like hitting buttons.

    Thanks!

Online poker rooms finally appear to be developing poker apps for the iPad and iPhone. Bwin have just released a real money poker app that has been developed specifically for the iPad.

Terminal Poker have create an iPad app also that is pretty good. Switch Poker were the first real money poker apps for iPads and iPhones.

PokerStars have released an iPhone app but they haven't devleoped a specific iPad app yet. www.ipadpokerapps.com have screenshots of each of the apps that I listed.

The mFortune Texas Hold'em app is is great too.
