Because the population that grew rapidly, M2 isolated itself from Earth as a self-govern planet, with Earth as a loose ally. In the year UA. 4532, M2 caught a strange signal dispatched from the Moon so it sent a team, led by Colonel Jason, up there to investigate the cause. What they discovered was that the Moon is breaking into pieces and Earth is aiming to use M2 as the replacement, a replacement that involves the death of everyone currently living on M2. Jason decided to intervene and defend his people from the selfishness of the Earth people. This is the war that, no matter who won, will change everything about this universe…It won’t be wrong to call this this ‘the final war’.Stage1: Mission on the MoonInvestigation Unit: Black Eel * Black Eel landed on the Moon and was attacked by an unknown force, which was the starting point of the war.Stage2: Crimson Moon * The Moon was covered in larva eruptions. The unknown force is still chasing him. He has to find survivors to find out what really happened.Stage4: Water World * When he reached Washington, he found that the city was turned into a sea of ice. People on Earth had already moved to the planet called Fiminis to prepare to replace the Moon, that was about to crash into Earth, with M2.Stage5: The final war * Earth people were about to use the Moonwalker to destroy the Moon and replace it with the planet M2. Jason will have to prevent that from happening to defend his people from the selfish Earthlings.Feature * 4 types of ships to choose from, each with different abilities (dispersal shots, slow but destructive shots, machine gun, laser shots). * Weapons and enhancers will be unlocked as level proceeds * Totally 5 stages, with the boss in the last stage. In any case, what I played of it was kind of unremarkable. But the joypad on my new ipad works relatively ok. This game seems better suited on an ipad over an iphone, but the joypad controls probably work better on an iphone I have to figure. But I don't know since I haven't loaded it on my iphone. But plays decent on my new ipad. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,239 179 63 #6 Royce, Sep 7, 2012 Never played Asteroids? I have no time for scrolling shmups without RT, but maybe I'll download it anyway in case they come to their senses at some point GeekyDad Well-Known Member Jan 14, 2012 1,173 0 0 Games Journalist #7 GeekyDad, Sep 7, 2012 I'm 41. What do you think? But Asteroids ain't no shmup. Sure, it's a precursor, but apple and oranges. This is pretty much your typical horizontal shmup, but...with inertia. It's weird. If it were going for a Defender Stargate thing, I could understand, but it's weird for this kind of shooter. In any case, that was the only real element of the game that I found interesting. The rest of it is pretty boring. jeffyg3 Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2010 1,251 0 36 #8 jeffyg3, Sep 7, 2012 Meh, it's ok as a free download, but I didn't think it was worth keeping at all. Thanks for the heads up though. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,239 179 63 #9 Royce, Sep 7, 2012 It's a multidirectional shmup, but that's semantics and I get what you're saying jeffyg3 Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2010 1,251 0 36 #10 jeffyg3, Sep 7, 2012 I think Asteroids is more of an arena shooter than anything if you think about it. Oh screw it, lets just consider Minigore as a SHMUP too, haha :/ awp69 Well-Known Member Oct 30, 2009 8,249 0 36 Greenville, SC #11 awp69, Sep 8, 2012 Haven't tried this yet, but inertia has worked well in other shmups (doesn't mean it does here). Gridrunner is a prime example. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,239 179 63 #12 Royce, Sep 8, 2012 Technically it is. Dual stick shooters are another subgenre I think most people just think of vertical and horizontal scrollers when they hear shoot em up but it's really a broad genre. Scrollers have just been the dominant archetype since the 80s. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
