Hi everyone! Im one of the developers working on Racing Apex and would like to show you a few screenshots from our iPhone version. Racing Apex is a fast arcade style racer with a classic, clean polygon art style and a physics based handling system. Features include arcade and championship modes, global leaderboards, multiplayer, touch screen or tilt controls and much more.
I love the flat shaded Virtua Racing style, and I'm sold on this visual look alone. WHEN is it coming out?
Thanks for the comments, glad to see people like the old school art style! We are aiming for a December release at the moment. We are making sure it runs very fast on all devices, including the older iPhone/iPods. A trailer of ingame footage will be put up soon, keep an eye out for that!
Looks stunning, December seems so far off all of a sudden Is the multiplayer you mention full blown WiFi? It's one thing that I've always wanted out of ridge racer.
Glad you like it! Yes it will be WiFi multiplayer. We will be detailing the specific game modes soon.
Love the visual style of this! If it plays well, has a decent number of tracks and good features, I will buy! EDIT: Will this have gyroscope control and retina support? Both would be great.
Thanks for the comments, I'll try to answer all your questions. We have options for using both touch screen or accelerometer controls. We're expanding these to make sure you can configure the controls to suit your needs! Yes we do support retina display and iPad resolution. We'll look at featuring anti aliasing on older devices if performance allows, as we're aiming to maintain a fast frame rate on the older devices. Initially Racing Apex will feature a number of tracks from all over the globe, with more available via DLC. We're using touchscreen and accelerometer controls at the moment - if gyroscope control can add to the gameplay, we'll have a look at the options.
