Hey everybody! I am pleased to announce my new adventure game, The Secret of Grisly Manor! It's a classic adventure game with gorgeous graphics, tricky puzzles, and a fun story. It should be ready for sale in the next couple of weeks. I'll update this thread with more info, screenshots, and videos as the release date gets closer. Thanks for looking! Joe http://www.firemaplegames.com Here are some screenshots to whet your appetite:
Looks fantastic! And I do like these old-school type adventures too! Looking forward to getting my hooves on this one! QS
Very nice graphics ! I really like these types of games... Are you planning an iPad version as well, or will this be strictly for the iPhone ?
Thanks everybody! @quebecotr: yeah, it's currently just for the the iPhone. It does work on the iPad, just with pixel doubling of course. It would look really sweet running natively on the iPad - and the iPhone4. The iPad and the iPhone4 came out after I had already made 75% of the graphics for the game. Hopefully the game will be a moderate success so I can remake all the graphics at the larger size. And isn't a smaller iPad rumored to be on the horizon? It's tough making raster graphics for all these different screen sizes! Plus the iPad is a different ratio altogether. It's 4:3 whereas the iPhones are all widescreen. You can't just upsize - or downsize - the graphics, you have to reposition things or parts will get cut off. Hopefully I can figure out a smoother system as time goes on. And hopefully people love these old adventure games as much as I do! Joe
I thought this was gonna be a sequel to the Secret of Bryce Manor. Oh well, this still looks really good though
Looks great, joe! Can't wait to play it! Will it be 3rd Gen only or will I be able to play it on my 2nd gen touch? -Dan (sciTunes)
Hey Dan! I played through the game on my iPhone 2G - the oldest of the old - and it worked fine, so it should play great on every iDevice.
Very tempting ! Any idea what the price will be for this ? I'm very tempted; I really enjoy these kinds of games, and this one has terrific visual styling. Looking forward to mid-September.
