If not maybe I could email the dev to add them. Tap left to go counter clockwise. Tap right to go clock wise. Double tap for special bomb attack. And auto fire for lasers. Noticed someone in the comments mention the tilt controls were the worst they'd seen. Well, I wouldn't say they're "the worst", but without calibration settings (Tilt to Live and the more recent Don't Die, Mr. Robot! did it very well with auto calibration) I'm having a rough time. You have to hold your device flat in order rotate around to the top. I tried holding the iPhone like I normally do for portrait games and it was fine until I needed to get to the top. If some calibration settings were added, this would be a really fun, retro high-score shooter. I like the tap to move idea. But I think they built it around the tilt mechanic. Always room for options though! I'm sure there are plenty of folks who would welcome a touch control option. The only settings are sound and music volume. LordShad0wz Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2014 4,286 1 38 #7 LordShad0wz, Apr 12, 2016 Well there's no harm in me emailing the dev. Atleast I'll try. Sometimes they are open to different control ideas. We will see what happens. I'll point them to this thread as well. The game looks likes a lot of fun too. Bummer, I want to play this. Oh well. LordShad0wz Well-Known Member Nov 19, 2014 4,286 1 38 #10 LordShad0wz, Apr 13, 2016 Email sent. I sent the link to this thread as well. Then instabuy for everyone. oweeeeendennis Member Apr 13, 2016 5 0 0 #12 oweeeeendennis, Apr 13, 2016 Last edited: Apr 13, 2016 Hey guys! This is Owen. I made the game. Sorry it's a little less than perfect, it's my first game. That said, I DO wanna help. I'm going to look into figuring out some other control options for you. I can see doing clockwise or counterclockwise version. I'm also going to look into the calibration thing for you. I'm using gamesalad, so not everything is easy to access, but I think I might be able to add like a "hold the game at whatever angle you want, press calibrate, that angle is now 0" kind of thing. I'll have to look into it this weekend. I don't think I could get it all the way so that if you were lying on your back and playing it above your face it would still work, however, in theory, based on my newbie skills, I can probably get to at least a "reclining in your chair chilling on your couch" position. I'll look into it and try to give you some options. Thanks for the feedback! I want people to enjoy themselves, so obviously I want to do what I can to help make that happen. Edit: Actually, that took me less time to figure out than I thought it would (5 minutes haha). The button option would take a little more finagling, but I'm 95% sure I can at the very least get the calibration update done by this weekend. The question then would be how long it takes apple to approve it which can be anywhere from 2-15 days (most likely 2-3 right now) Anotherkellydown Moderator Staff Member Patreon Bronze Feb 10, 2014 4,388 1,032 113 Male CAD Technician I Upstate NY https://youtube.com/channel/UCcvu9xhE7xT-mZrXUZQJr5g #13 Anotherkellydown, Apr 13, 2016 Hey Owen! Thanks for visiting the thread and for listening to feedback. This is a really cool game especially for your first! Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with on the auto calibration and other control options H4nd0fg0d Well-Known Member Mar 30, 2010 1,907 0 36 #14 H4nd0fg0d, Apr 13, 2016 Last edited: Apr 13, 2016 Touch aside, it would be fantastic to be able to hold device how I wish and be spot on functional. Thanks for showing up mate! You really should check out the tilt controls on Don't Die Mr Robot. Best I've seen, ever. You seem like an honest person so I'm sure you'll give us so touch controls This is pretty cool for your first game. I love the artwork. Did you do the entire game yourself? Your efforts to make changes based on player comments has encouraged me to pick up your game. This is the kind of thing I definitely appreciate. I too am hoping for touch controls of some kind. I'm not very good with tilt but I'll give it a go. Thanks. oweeeeendennis Member Apr 13, 2016 5 0 0 #17 oweeeeendennis, Apr 14, 2016 Bought it. Checked it out, and you're right! I was going to have a calibration screen at the very beginning that was like "hold comfortably and tap". I thought it was a little unfortunate because I liked the mood that was set with the "Warning" as the first thing. Now I'm seeing this Mr. Robot example there's no reason it can't just be based on how the person is holding it to begin with and go based on that. Then have something in the settings if they want to reset it. Now I'll get to keep that warning as my first screen. Thanks! oweeeeendennis Member Apr 13, 2016 5 0 0 #18 oweeeeendennis, Apr 14, 2016 Thank you! Yes, I did all the artwork, sound, music, and programming. Programming was done in Gamesalad.
