Wondering which game everyone is looking at for game of the year. Thus far I would have to say that it is Heroes and Castles by Foursaken Media. This game is the sole reason I bought an ipad mini. The thread for the game was at the top spot for weeks and even months. What do you guys think?
Kind of early to ask. Still got a lot of Wednesdays left Though right now I'd have tough time choosing between a few For pure gameplay - Boson X, Duet, Monster Adventures For artistic design - Badland, Type:Rider, Penumbear, Incredipede, Strata
Some of my favorites this year so far are Kingturn series, WazHack, Dungeon Plunder, Penumbear, Lego Batman: DC Superheroes... if I had to pick just one for now it'd be Kingturn Underworld.
Same, since it's not anything new (as much as I want to vote for frozen Synapse and Xcom, it just doesn't seem right). So many good games. This has been the best year on iOS IMO.
Well I have three games that I really like, maybe it is because I am standing high on the leader boards with this three dunno. 1.BOBBING. 2.AN ALIEN WITH A MAGNET. 3.LITTLE LUCA.
Paid game of the year : Frozen Synapse Runner up : Bombcats SE (way better than AB) Free game of the year : Blitz Brigade Runner up : Avengers Alliance (too many crashes to give vote.)
I always consider not just gameplay, but also the production values and it's impact on me and on the iOS gaming scene as well. This wont be my final list, but it would include these (no order): XCOM Temple Run 2 Infinity Blade 3 Asphalt 8 SWKOTOR Limbo Heroes & Castles Shadowrun Returns Boson X Based on my criteria, Boson X is a bit odd because of how single-minded the game is, and that the visuals and audio arent even top-notch, but damn this game is THE BEST single-minded game that isnt a puzzle game EVER, mostly just because of pure gameplay. I cant deny or ignore that. Some of the titles on my list are ports too, which i may have to scrap when really choosing my top game for the year. Another thing is that i am not sure if some of the games i have in mind were released 2013 already which makes creating the list a bit more difficult. Im also considering Knightmare Tower in my list. And i would include EPOCH 1 in there if it wasnt made last year, and EPOCH2 if it releases this year even if i havent played it yet
I said this in 2012 and 2011 too, which only translates to "every year, iOS gaming is getting bigger and better." I hope this trend continues and we get more and more quality games on mobile.
Off the top of my head, my list would be: Heroes & Castles - with the right teammate in multiplayer, this would be my definite game of the year 9th Dawn - fun, old school RPG vibe Mikey Hook - fun platformer with perfect controls, and freedom to play for completion or speed runs Boson X - prefect endless runner for me. When in the zen state, the game is pure bliss for me.
