Also, Using Unity seems to make it easy to port to Android, but it is made harder because there are so many different screen res, models, and versions of android out there? Or does Unity somehow take care of these problems? Thanks. |

Unity does have a GUI system but it's pretty broken, slow, low featured etc. They are working on making a new system but for now we had to roll our own resolution manager. Another big part of the problem is just trying to work out what resolutions you want to support and make sure you take into account the menu bar and other locked screen elements. On a side note it seems Apple is going to add a new ratio to the mix which will be interesting (iPhone/iPod ratio = 3:2, iPad = 4:3, iPhone 5 ~= 16:9). We've actually done the work to support the new iPhone 5 and we'll be releasing an update soon that will support that res (fingers crossed Apple sticks to the rumors) |

Thanks for your answers, cool to hear it from a developer. I think it's cool that you are going to support the iphone 5, my contract with my iphone 4 doesn't let me get a new phone until May of next year, but I look forward to the larger screen for sure.
But for now, my iphone is kind of neglected, even my iphone 4 is having problems running the latest games, and with only. 8gb, can't store much. But thanks for taking the time to answer some of my questions. |
