In respect to risk variant: You use troops like in risk. But instead of earning cards you earn money. That money can be used for extra troops, air attacks, nuclear bombs, v2 rockets, blitz, forced peace treaties, gold mines, troop factories, radars, etc.
Deciding how to use the money you gain instead of the classic "trade cards for more troops" is what we like about Crazy Generals.

I do my turn, submit it, then press the home button to exit. On a notification, it takes you back to the game with it being your turn, and doesnt autoload the opponent's turn. I did figure out that if you press pause then home, it loads the turn relatively quickly, but you dont normally have to do anything like that in asynch games, and it took me a while to figure out. Most asynch games will recognize that a turn needs to be loaded and automatically do that (with some delay admittedly, but automatically).
