This came from Tony Hawk's tweet Tony Hawk's tweet: http://twitter.com/tonyhawk/status/10384173227 "In the PR world, this is considered 'going rogue,' but I'm too excited. This is real & dropping soon."
Yeah, as much as I'd love it to be happening, this was rolling around on youtube quite a while ago. If it's happening again, great! I'm not holding my breath however.
Yeah. If I remember correctly, some company made it, but they didn't own the IP and therefore couldn't publish it without being sued by Activision.
The controls on the video don't match the controls on the screenshot -- interesting. But yeah, that seems to be the same video that was doing the rounds about six months ago. Seems to me that releasing this would be a license to print money for Activision -- makes no sense not to do it. Then again, we're talking about the same company that stuck the knife into the goose that laid the golden eggs (also known as Infinity Ward).
Look at his Twitter. Actual shots and confirmation, he is working on the project it seems and so it will be out for sure

Probably Skae It that inspired them to finally do so, if the big-man himself is giving the OK then it must be real .
Wow! Finally. I needed a real Tony Hawk game. Any ETA on release? Hopefully this month or next month. I have 32 bucks that I've been saving, and I'm probably gonna spend some of that money on Mirror's Edge, The Sims 3 Adventures, and now this. Looks great
OK, now I'm intrigued. And ecstatic if this turns out to be true. It is posted on his verified twitter account, and he does say he's "going rogue" with the information, which could be the reason we haven't heard anything else official about it. Now I'm seriously considering holding my breath.
Looks like Pocket Gamer just stole the news:http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Tony+Hawk%27s+Pro+Skater+2+%28iPhone%29/news.asp?c=19078 But I wouldn't trust them for a second. They said that Tekken was coming, and it isn't. They never seem to differentiate a rumor from an officially announced game.
Pardon my skepticism -- we've been burned before. This looks as official as it gets, though. Mike V ended up being pretty disappointing (though it could very well be much improved with the forthcoming update), so I'll be really glad to see this hit the App Store.
Yeah, my spidey senses are tingling a little bit on the skeptical side as well. However, I don't think Tony would just throw it out there if he stumbled across a youtube vid and assume it must be coming out at some point point. I actually kind of enjoyed Mike V. after spending some time with it, but... Tony Hawk 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. It's not even in the same ballpark.
