Open To 3D Prop Designs | Paul Evans

Paul Evans tops his recent foray into Viking-era art with the custom modelled and textured blade of a Spear. He even throws in a Weapon rack to prop his previously created Sword and Axe designs on, because why not?

Furthermore, Paul is now accepting commissions for designs of 3D furniture, weapons and objects for outdoor/indoor settings. 3D Props & Assets, so to say. Get in touch.

    Bestiary | Antonio d'Amore

Part canine. Part stud. Part punk. This amalgamation is here to not do much besides remind you that Antonio d'Amore is slowly easing into the thick of work after a month's hiatus.

d'Amore is a multimedia artist that renders over a decade of experience creating 2D/3D illustrations, characters, assets, animations and more for video games. If you haven't already, take a look at his portfolio and get in touch.

Board-gaming with friends or family this weekend?

With our multimedia artist, Brandon Crampton continuing work on State of Wonder, a tabletop alpha of the turn-based card game is now available for free.

All you'll be needing is a printer for two ready-made decks of playing cards, the rulebook, one other player and lots of cunning. I leave you with all the info, here.

    City Sudoku | Indigo Doyle

Creeping into the week and wondering if City Sudoku is even a thing? Apparently it is, combining elements of Sudoku, Bingo and these low-poly tile-sets.

Not only was it 2012 Toronto Game Jam entry programmed by Jason Ko, but our artist Indigo Doylehad modelled these tiles as a 3D floater. Like them? Come connect with Indigo or play the game via Higher Eclectic Ground.

    The Park | Paul Evans

Paul Evans's little recreation of a park bench stems from his study of various outdoor, public spots.

Letting its unkempt, dilapidated state speak for itself, the artist created the scene on Autodesk Maya before texturing it using Substance by Allegorithmic. A 3D prop, assets, materials and texture artist, Paul Evans is currently for hire. You may connect with him, here on Higher Eclectic Ground.

    Round #2 | Brandon Crampton

In this next viewing of Brandon Crampton's sketch-book, the artist demonstrates portraits of Frank The Zombie Duck and Jar Jar Binks, before moving on to monochrome practice sketches of human poses, facial features and fantasy characters. All seen here.

Found a favourite? Have a list of 2D game assets that need to be quickly developed? Connect with Brandon.

    Autumn | Indigo Doyle

With a love for Autumn, Indigo Doyle finally manages to render a scene appropriate to the season.

Software used include Autodesk 3DS Max, Blender3D, Marmoset Toolbag and Adobe Photoshop. The falling leaves are a nice touch, no? Indigo is actively looking for freelance 3D prop, asset and/or environment design openings.

Wood & Bark | Paul Evans

Rather than keep with his usual photo-realistic style, Paul Evans' next iteration of Wood based material adopts a more stylized flavor that he feels is apt for a cartoony environment.

Also, some Bark material for realism's sake anyway. Paul is a 3D prop, asset and materials/texture artist looking for work. Mail sean.b[at]highereg[dot]com or use his portfolio to get in touch.

    Brandon Crampton Announcement

A quick announcement pertinent to Brandon Crampton, 2D and 3D artist that has been part of the Higher Eclectic Network since February, 2016. I've had the privilege of working as his representative and manager ever since, and together, we've contributed to various independent game projects namely --

The Potshotpete Channel. Crampton developed avatar art for Jack Davison’s YouTube/Twitch gaming channel in 2016.

The Evanzo Channel. Crampton developed avatar art for Craig Evans’ YouTube gaming channel in 2016.

Melee Masters. A 3D-playable character was modelled, textured and rigged for Two Piece Games LLC’s platformed fighting game.

    State of Wonder
. Crampton continues to develop various art assets for Better Built Studios’ upcoming tabletop/digital card game.

After a good partnership, it has been mutually decided for us to split ways. As such then, Crampton will bear no affiliation to Higher Eclectic Ground, his listing won't be found on this website or any of our forums, nor will I be co-ordinating/mediating any collaborations that developers might choose to set up with him.

I highly recommend fans of his work to follow his creations on his Instagram profile, which would also be the ideal way to get in touch with him for any commissions. The very best to him!

The Strawman In: The Old School Diner | Revisited & Re-textured | Indigo Doyle

In the fall of 2016 Indigo Doyle conceived The Strawman, a character concept based off a straw dispenser while waiting for an order of fries.

Weeks later the artist decided that the character needed an environment to sit within, leading her to progressively develop a typical Diner. Recently, she revisited both the Diner and her Strawman in favor of creating this re-textured render of higher quality. What do you think?

With Indigo open to creating 3D props, assets and environments, feel free to reach out with your individual requests or explore the Diner in full-3D.

    Cartoon Home | Paul Evans

The stylized wood and roof tile materials Paul Evans created on Substance by Allegorithmic last month? They now have a Home.

As with his prior asset/props, this scene has been developed on Autodesk Maya before being textured on Substance Painter. Inspired by the work of Blizzard, a full 3D view and associated UV maps can be found on Paul's updated portfolio.

    The Treehouse | Antonio d'Amore

Working name The Treehouse, this low poly advergame has software/game development startup 1D4 showing off its expertise and services via a walking sim.

As artist and co-founder of 1D4 himself, Antonio d'Amore has taken up the onus of developing various low poly environment assets and characters for the game. In its current demo status, The Treehouse is playable on desktop and VR devices it at any time.

Antonio meanwhile is looking for 2D/3D design opportunities on your own game projects. Want to work with him? Here's his portfolio.

    Tuscany | Antonio d'Amore

From Antonio d'Amore's repertoire of 2D animated work comes a 30-second illustration of a typical Tuscany sunset.

The clip itself originates from an unsuccessful cartoon pilot the artist was involved in the production of; thankfully he's preserved his workflow from storyboard to final form in images.

Grab the story behind the sunset and reach out to Antonio, a multimedia designer creating 2D/3D art for games, on his profile.

    Skyblivion | Paul Evans

A battle-arena floor for TESR: Skyblivion, an upcoming Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion recreation on the Skyrim engine, and a well-damaged wall.

Both of these the latest entries into 3D prop/texture artist, Paul Evans' portfolio of materials developed using Substance by Allegorithmic. I trust you'll want to explore both substances in 3D as always? This way.

    Otto Frank | Antonio d'Amore

Multimedia game artist Antonio d'Amore has gone ahead and created Otto Frank for Christmas. You're seeing various stages of his development here, but Otto was actually created as an experiment with DragonBones' 2D skeletal animation tools. Watch him do a jiggle while being rigged, meshed and animated.

    Zombie Nurse | Antonio d'Amore

Monday blues? How can an undead member of hospital staff be of assistance?

Brought to life by Antonio d'Amore, 2D/3D game development artist, following a quick animations test on 2D Nima. The Zombie Nurse is included among four character concepts, developed by the artist for KBros Games last year.

    Portraits | Antonio d'Amore

Skimming through#Antonio d'Amore's sketchbook of recent, random character portraits and can't seem to decide which I like the most.

X is a definite winner though I'd fancy seeing more anime-styled work from the multimedia game artist/illustrator. And you?

    The Gunslinger - WIP | Antonio d'Amore

I connected Antonio d'Amore with gaming entertainment website, Old Grizzled Gamers last month and will you look at what the man's been doing to their mascot!

Many drafts later, we seem to have finally agreed on The Gunslinger. It's design is still very much in progress, but d'Amore thinks it wise to celebrate with this quick animations test anyway. For the rest of this multimedia artist's portfolio of 2D/3D work, this way.
