    Hey All,

I'm looking for some more games like Sonic, Mega Man, Mario, etc.. Just an old school classic 2D side scrolling adventure. Anything you recommend doesn't have to be a port, but just looking for stuff like that. Anything you can suggest would be great!

    Cheers,

    Soosiz
    Spy Bot Chronicles

Other games that I played, but didn't really like that much:
    Bounce On
    Sonic
    Megaman II
    Castle of Magic

Since being updated, Mega Man II is actually pretty good.

Spy bot Chronicles, Toy Bot Compilation, and the Rolando series set the bar pretty high too.

Didn't recommend Archibalds Adventures because it's more of a puzzle platformer, than a straight up side scroller.

As a platformer though, it's one of my favorites if not my favorite.

    All are good.

I've not quite gotten hooked on the ToyBot / SpyBot games yet, but I do really like Castle Of Magic and Bounce On (they're currently working on a 5th world for Bounce On, so you have to admire their commitment to updating). Unfortunately, it seems that the majority of side scrolling affairs on the iPhone that don't involve heavy puzzle solving have been reduced to the Zombieville USA formula of "advance to the right and shoot". Now don't get me wrong, I actually really enjoy that type of game, but I would also like some more "old fashioned" ones like Sonic and Mario that are original IPs (or at least new adventures for established IPs).

LOL - maybe a mod can move this thread to the right section because I actually thought a new game was released called "Side Scrolling Adventures" and thought wow cool!

cant really add much to whats been mentioned since this genre is very under represented on the appstore.

although not particularly popular i really enjoyed blade angel. had a very sega genesis feel to it and is constantly being updated :)

edit: blade angel is currently on sale for 99c/59p - its well worth that!

I loved Bounce On. So you might give it a try.

    Also Rolando 1 and 2

Odd coincidence, because somehow just now I lost that nes emulator. I downloaded an update and when i tried to use the emulator, i was taken to a page for "Rock" and that's about it.Too bad, I enjoyed that thing.
