Dead Rising on iPhone presents a very similar experience to what you know and love about the first game. You still play as Frank (though Capcom hinted that it might release another playable character if the game is well-received) and you're stuck in a Williamette Mall that has been overrun by zombies. It's up to you to use any means available to kill them… again. While your surroundings and main character are the same, Capcom made it very clear that this version has been built from the ground up specifically for iPhone and iPod touch. So while the shopping mall setting is familiar, Capcom says that the events and story will be unique to the portable device. Let's go over what didn't make the cut: Boss fights, escorting survivors, combining weapons, taking photos, driving vehicles, and dressing up in goofy costumes are all out (though costumes could be added in a later update). What's left is a miniature shopping mall with benches, trash cans, and other everyday items that you, as photojournalist Frank West, can use to take out the shambling undead. You can also fight with your fists, plus the occasional firearms.
They all doubted me and laughed at me...on Age of Zombies and my previous Dead Rising 2...(Even though i did get the name wrong, idc)
LOL, Nice Ipadboy. Determination seems to have worked out for you. But is that for iPhone or some other mobile device?
um awesome. its on the wii 360 and even an ipod this is great.but i hope tht they make it better than the wii version and not have those puddles and birds.and also not to throw out the jump button.fingers crossed.
You gotta be kidding me!!!!! One of my all time favorite console games on my iPhone!! Holy crap!!! Is it just 3GS+ or are those screens just on a 3GS?
What happened randomdude, isn't it impossible for this game to be on an iPhone? You should be like "So what if it is made for the iPhone, the iPhone can't handle it since it isn't powerful enough."
Gameplay video (the title is wrong, the game is Dead Rising 1, not Dead Rising 2). Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
I didn't think it was possible, man... My mind has officially been blown. I can't stop looking at those screens, it's so beautiful... I guess anything's possible if the dev's willing to make it work. I never thought that Resident Evil 4, Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies, or Street Fighter IV could work on such a device, and here comes yet another game to add to the list... This is going to be one painful wait.
The graphics could be better. The character models in particular appear to have a low polygon count and there are some bad textures as well. But as long as the gameplay and controls are good, I'm happy.
If that's the tradeoff they have to make to get this game on the iPhone, then so be it. I'd rather have fewer zombies (although it looks like a good number for an iDevice game) than laggy gameplay. Plus, this isn't a home console, this is what started out as an MP3 player/phone. That's a pretty impressive number of zombies for such a device.
They used Resident Evil Degeneration graphics instead of 4 it looks like. Maybe it would of been better with Street Fighter? Or borrow the Gameloft Engine to make it better? Hell, even Unity Unreal or whatever (Epic Citadel)
I agree 110% on this comment. In fact before I read your post I was going to post just that same comment. I know they can do a hell of a lot better on the character models. They should use the same ones that they used in RE4 mobile. The character models in that game was decent. The backgrounds look good but the character models remind me of that Prisoner 84 game.
The best part of the game(for me) was the tons of zombies on the screen at once, which is why I hated the Wii version and will not be purchasing this one either since it looks even worse.
