The only thing I remember about the original iOS game was that it became more and more broken with every update. The PC version was fun though.
It seems like this game is using the same free-to-play model as League of Legends uses. A few choice questions from the FAQ section: I'm in.

I played the first one in iOS before Xbox, the only thing the game needs it's better framerate and bug fixes, was impossible to play with many monsters in the screen.
Here's hoping they update and fix the first game on iOS before they release this as the 1st one got abandoned i think. Out of all the games i had on iOS, DunDef 1st/2nd wave was the only one i never uninstalled from my 3GS and up to now, it's still on my 5 even if i rarely play it now due to bugs
iPhone 4. But maybe that's why, I saw videos of DD on an iPad 2 and ran smooth, hope DD2 brings stability and improve framerate and controls.
